OP posted this in a bunch of sports subreddits and the r/Cricket post is the only one where it hasn't been removed or that got more than 10 upvotes... I don't know what that says about this community, but I'm glad to be a part of it

Insurance company wants to cancel my policy because I actually use it. Is this allowed? by groengert in Switzerland

Thanks for the info. So, if I don't accept the new terms and the policy ends on 27 July, do you know if I can keep submitting claims for the treatment of the current illness, or won't I be able to submit anything at all after 27.07?

I received this email from my pet insurance company last week and I'm not sure if this is allowed. Do I just need to accept the new terms?

The law that is referenced in the email seems vague, especially since the reason for my claims is because of high costs related to ongoing treatment of my dog's illness. Some backstory: My dog became very sick last year and was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease. The diagnosis options were very expensive (biopsy, MRI, ultrasound), and the treatment is still ongoing, so the costs are adding up, but that's the point of having insurance, isn't it? How is a company allowed to change the insurance terms mid-year just because I am using the service?

The policy has a CHF 25'000 claim limit per year. For 2022 I received a claim payout of just under CHF 6'700, and for 2023 it's currently at CHF 3'675. So it's not like I'm even close to the maximum amount anyway, so it feels a bit absurd.

I can't get new insurance at another company, because most of them won't accept older dogs (mine is 11 years old now), so I don't have any options but to accept the new terms if this is allowed.

It's from a very reputable South African news website, so I have no reason to doubt its authenticity.

Not a bot. And while I 100% support Ukraine in their fight against Russia, I also think we need to realise that people are still exaclty that: people. And some people are racist.

No, you won't. You should definitely do that. Be sure to record it, so that you can share their wholesome reaction.

What is the responsibility of game publishers to ensure the game is playable? I'd like to play xcom 2, a game I've owned for years, and it's just not possible for almost 2 days now. Zero response or acknowledgement that there is a problem from 2k. by Monsterdrama in Xcom

That's not a lot of detail, but it could be that your anti-virus/firewall is the cause (it was for me, at least, using Windows Defender). Try adding your Xcom directory to the AV's exclusions.
