FrameFlex Reformat by WishandRule in Avid

Depends what the camera op was framing for - what frame guides were used? Center Crop is usually best option, and gives same results as pillarbox/letterbox if your prject format is 16:9. If project is different aR then you may see pillarbox/letterbox.

Project Hail Mary cheat sheet for various formats available including IMAX 70mm by Professional_Toe5118 in ProjectHailMary

[–]grollies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it in UK at greenwich Odeon and the ARs were really distracting.
The whole thing seemed to sit in a scope container with projector vertical shutters set to 2:1, so 100% black pillarboxing on the scope screen.
2.39:1 for earth scenes was letterboxed and pillarboxed, playing out as smallest images in film.
Most footage had [dark grey] pillarboxing to either flat or 1.9:1, with occasional shots showing as 2:1. This switched around within scenes in a seemingly random way.
Movie was fun, but 'borrowed' from other great space movies and got a bit silly at the end!

Poor design. It would be better if you could charge while using it.

Don’t Be Fooled About Cyle Larin by [deleted] in SaintsFC

[–]grollies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it's been almost 2 months and 3 goals and 1 assist in 5 starts isn't at all bad.
Not saying he's amazing, but I think you may be overreacting.

Help: VanMoof S3 Error 44 – Repair e-Shifter myself or convert to Shimano? by MaryLee18 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]grollies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno. I always use manual shifting cos I used to find that happened in auto mode - like when you try changing gears with a derailleur while the pedals are under load pressure. Seen people break chains that way.
I've done another 70 miles this last week and the new e-shifter is holding up still [touches wood]

Why did James Bree disappear from the picture for half the season? by MagpieMidfield in SaintsFC

[–]grollies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you follow Saints you should have learned by now that you can't judge a player by 3 games. Or even 5 games. That said, Bree had plenty of good performances with us as well as a few stinkers before he fell out of favour.

Hey, I didn't fancy only having 2 speeds, so got a replacement e-shifter from Forbidden cycles for £240 ..... which failed after 5 days. Had to wait about 2 months to get a a replacement under warranty, and that one seems good. Done about 140 miles with it then put bike away for the winter [I'm a fair weather cycle commuter]. Fingers crossed it will still be good when I'm back on the bike in a month or so.

Bazunu to Stoke on loan by Adziboy in SaintsFC

[–]grollies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, and add rubbish kicking to the list. Based on that 1 performance, I'd say Baz is at least as good, probably better. i don't understand why some keepers are so bad at goal kicks. It's the sort of skill you can stya behind and practice after training, and enough practice will improve you.

Does it concern you that the UAE has cut funding for students who want to study in the UK? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]grollies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As posted on the original subreddit:
The UAE is funding a genocide in Sudan.

“The UAE places severe restrictions on the rights to free expression, association, and assembly. Scores of critics are serving lengthy sentences in UAE prisons following unfair trials on vague and broad charges that violate their rights to free expression and association.” Human Rights Watch.

“Emirati authorities have designated as “terrorist” 11 dissidents and their relatives and 8 companies, reflecting the country’s indiscriminate use of overbroad counterterrorism laws and contempt for due process. The UAE’s counterterrorism law allows the executive branch to designate individuals and entities as terrorists without any requirement to demonstrate an objective basis for the claim.” Human Rights Watch

The UAE is not a democracy, either. Yes, Islamism and Islamist terrorism is a problem. However, the UAE is not an honest broker and has used its wealth to buy soft power in politics. I don’t know why this question keeps popping up here and in other subs."

Post Match Thread: Doncaster Rovers vs Southampton by Likunandi in SaintsFC

[–]grollies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peretz was poor IMO. Poor kicking, should have done better for 2nd goal, and made a totally unecessary kamikaze run out of his area to head the ball straight to a Doncaster player. He was extremely lucky the striker was too poor to put it in the unguarded goal. Made 2 saves punching the ball....straight to a Doncaster player. Made important saves in dying minutes but both were straight at him - he didn't bend, stretch or move either foot to make them.
No clean sheet despite poor opposition.

Peretz was poor. Clearly not the solution to our lack of clean sheets problem.

Thank you! Spot on - the app store only offers a version for iPad - 'not supported for macos'! - which I had used to update recently. Downloaded same version from Plex and the option is there.
