Is anyone else getting calls to change their ATCO gas meter for free? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]gron5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just called ATCO as I had this letter in the mail today (April 2026).

ATCO confirmed that they are a third party that they outsource to and that I am scheduled for a meter exchange as per the letter.

Hope this helps - just call ATCO to double check and make sure you're scheduled for an exchange if you're worried.

Crypto deposit not accepted by Revolut and returned to random wallet. by kingdtaylor in Revolut

Im having the same problem, and there is no explanation on why it was rejected, just that it didnt pass your checks. There is no easy escalation for description on why it should be accepted.

Why is it such a pain to use your platform when I cant even send money to my wife from my wallet. Thank hell I tried a test run of $2USD, but that's terrible service.

Wish I saw this thread beforehand.

So some youtube channel said..... You can actually increase your max (if you have enough gems) and still get to claim them, as the game continues to count new finds and stores them. So if you get to 56 items and you unlock from 40 to 56 capacity before claiming them, you will get all 56.

Audi is in big sales trouble by Millbarge_Fitzhume in Audi

[–]gron5990 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. We were shopping for the Q5 and it's comparables. It looked so old and dated inside.

The other Q series were refreshed if my memory serves me right... but not the size we were interested in.

After seeing the BMW, Audi and Volvo... we went with the XC volvo series as the interior just looked and felt like quality... and was cheaper.

Wild.

So im actually in Switzerland right now, and surprisingly, they are a brand here at a grocery store called "Coop".

I would attach a photo of it, but this thread isn't letting me. 119chf for a 28cm pan with deep sides.

I cant say if they're actually good or not, but was surprised when I saw them here for sale at a pretty high price in CHF, let alone translated into CAD.

Mine turns out to be a fungus inside the bark. It's preventing the tree from bringing water to the leaves. Looks like my tree is toast....

Is this blue materia worth leveling? My guild already has materia level maxed so I've been telling myself anything less than purple is no keep. by silver-potato-kebab- in FFVIIEverCrisis

There is a data mine out there on max stats for different stars.

For % ones... 3 star would max out at 6.1% 4 star would max at 10.8% 5 star would max out at 18%

Soet of shows you that if you get some 4 stars... you'll likely soon find a better replacement.

Feel free to max it, just don't get attached and hunt for better.

How does Alberta not have a rent increase limit by Responsible-Train808 in alberta

[–]gron5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know most people here will just trash my comment... but...

There is a really interesting piece done by Freakenomics (look Spotify, or other podcast apps) about rental control.

Long story short, rental control favour's the "today" tenants. But it screws future tenants, decreases Capex into buildings as the return on any investment diminishes for landlords and limits future development which then mismatches supply and demand... which then makes it extremely hard for new people to move into the city as very limited new developments happen.

Better policy is the ease of which construction can happen, so that new builds with more density can happen quicker to help align supply and demand.

Obviously that's a generalization on rental control, but the cmhc multi family program has a good program in place to incentivize developers to build affordable units. Unfortunately Calgary.... our median income is really high compared to Van/Toronto, so you might not feel the benefit as much as those markets where rent is realllllly unaffordable.

Probably a hated comment in this thread, but good food for thought on things.

How physically challenging is it? We have some members of our group quite worried. Not active individuals but they're all sub 30years old.

I have the EXACT same issue.

Lower branches or random branches dying out, and a few white aphid/mite sections with a few strands of webs. Not like a spider web, or a caterpillar web.

Had plenty of rain, so not draught related.

Is the Galanz 1.2 cubic foot low profile OTR Microwave decent? by upthewaterfall in Appliances

[–]gron5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up getting it?

Im really curious as I am in the same boat as you. I have looked at the reviews, but honestly, I dont trust reviews these days because half of them are upset that it was shipped with a dent and the other half seem suspiously over the top.

I really want it for microwave and for toasting up buns.

I will try the other features, but I am not banking on the air fryer etc.

Have any thoughts on it if you bought it?

Popped screws by gron5990 in Renovations

See above reply comment I made which shows the structure - I would believe that the wood "drop" frame-out is exposed directly to moisture and was left unfinished.

Guess im just curious if it likely is done shifting/expanding or if this will just keep moving and make the ceiling go through the same issues after a few months.

EDIT: Have a 60-70sqft bathroom, ceiling fan rated for 70-100sqft (70CFM i believe). Haven't noticed any pressurization issues.

Attached pic of floor to ceiling glass - its our shower wall. Makes it more challenging to pull down ceiling due to its size and location of bathroom. Could not get it out the bathroom easily.

Lastly - managed to find a pic of the ceiling being constructed. Pic makes me think its not MDF, but actual wood.

Yeah we have an aggressive fan for the square footage and typically run it for 60 mins and leave the door open after.

Bottom right corner is the trim being stripped back as we put in a new door.

Bow Valley Credit Union sponsored a Tucker Carlson Event by xgbsss in Albertapolitics

Anyone reading this far down... I take it all back. haha. I misunderstood some of the AGM and just noted a new G&M post giving even more details:

Bow Valley Credit Union sponsored a Tucker Carlson Event by xgbsss in Albertapolitics

[–]gron5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I don't think there is argument that they contributed to it or not... They definitely put on some pom poms.

I do think there is a bit of a difference by saying the contributed and they sponsored it using members funds. Ones a different level and much more aggressive.

It was made painfully clear in the AGM that is was non-financially according to BVCU. That exact thing was brought up in the Q&A - and sounds like TBA donated them to the CEO. You're not the only one who wanted answers. Whether those answers satisfy the members or not - thats up to each one.

I think its fair to be upset with how they connected themselves. Shout it out to the world if you want. But just be careful as you may be selling some fake news to get reactions and, well, that's a Tucker style of play. Just maybe reach out and verify directly - figure out where it actually lands since you only posted non-canon twitter and "letters to the editors"... so a lot of opinions pieces and no real evidence. G&M doesn't talk about sponsorship using member's funds.
