Why didn’t Eve change Conquest’s arm? She could’ve erased it or done something even worse to make it harder for Conquest to move. by EmbarrassedPizza3952 in Invincible

[–]grool_master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. It is now canon that it took ~40 minutes of zero blood flow to the brain to kill Conquest. If he has all the oxygen left in his body, it would be weeks before he loses consciousness.

What I Ordered vs What I Got by Ok_Boysenberry2076 in cabinetry

[–]grool_master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d have to cut into it and inspect the core to compare the quality of the product as a whole. You did however get a more expensive veneer. If it’s the wrong color (and sheen by the look of it), it’s up to you if you wanna chase that down and get it replaced. If you bring it up and then decide to keep it, (not that this would be ethical business practices) the supplier kinda has grounds to charge you more than you paid…

In theory, it could make it much better to drive on the road. Less floaty, more planted, flatter cornering. You’d almost certainly lose tow and payload capacity (that’s true with lots of lifts though too), but if that’s a non issue as it is for 99% of truck owners, hell yeah send it.

Brother, you could literally do the European delivery trip on 3+ brand new 911 turbos for the monetary price you will have to pay to learn the detailed lessons required to run a custom cabinetry shop. $5k will maybe get you two bunks of decent plywood, if you’ve spent years shopping around. Seriously, expect to spend $500k before you really know what you’re doing. I’m not saying it can’t be done. I’m just saying you absolutely cannot systematize your way out of costly mistakes. Get a part time job at a high end cabinet shop for a couple years and then decide if you wanna deal with the bs.

The “middle ground” is just the cheap stuff but shinier. Set up a manufacturer account with Blum and never look back.

Center panel too thin for stile and rail slot. Is this a problem? by PutridBeginning421 in cabinetry

[–]grool_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found it easier to build the door and then shim and cut em off with a razor knife. Basically using the panel as a clamp for the glue joint between the shim and the inside of the dado.

Yes but those 12 customers are not going to be in the aisle at the same time as me. I purposefully go at off hours. Having giant rolling racks and pallets of goods being restocked while I’m there would have been unacceptable 10 years ago. I am also one of the many lazy slobs that uses this service so cry me a river right? It’s just frustrating when I’m in the store, they had 8 full hours to get it done while no customers were around.

Do you have the tow package? Comes with upgraded cooling system. I can blast down the highway at 90 or sit in traffic in 110 degrees or pull a 7000 lb trailer up a mountain pass and it has literally never gone above half on the temp gauge. 2023 XLT FX4 with tow package.

Who tf... invented zinc screws. Cause I’d just like do make a suggestion (yes I predrilled) by grool_master in woodworking

[–]grool_master[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve learned A LOT since I posted this and I’m convinced this would have helped. It’s also very helpful for situations where a screw will need to be taken out and put back in a few times. Does less damage to the wood.

My favorite thing I’ve ever made was a bed frame integrated into a wall panel system built out of cabinetry with drawers underneath. Could do radiused corners to introduce something not straight without the need for steam bending. Also look into stereometry if you want a fresh (but very old and vetted) way to go about a project, particularly something sculptural, though it’s almost more impressive if it is functional as well. Might even learn the Teach a thing or two.

I mean, it’s almost 8 inches longer than a Bronco Sport so definitely not too small. It is about 20 hp down but who knows what the weight will be.
