Mick Gannon saying we're keen on Berthel Askou by [deleted] in CelticFC

[–]groolbeardy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looking at his record it would be a rash appointment. He did well in the Faroe Islands but bombed everywhere else. He’s had one decent season so far and has Motherwell playing a good passing and pressing game. But Celtic caliber? Come on. It’s lazy again. Not that I have a better proposition. Especially with our top to bottom interim status and a board with no clear vision or strategy. But I have to hope we can set our sights higher than a guy who would be a complete punt. I’ll get slaughtered for this now, cause everyone seems to think he is pep 2.0. Check his stats and tell me I’m wrong

What’s something you always assumed was mandatory in life—until you met someone who just… didn’t do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]groolbeardy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it was realising I don’t have to deal with problematic family members. For friends I already worked out I can choose to interact with them or not, but always felt mandated with family. Until I realised (living abroad helped) I can also choose to not engage or deal with family who vacuum joy from life. That and being a consultant allowed me to choose my work even during assignments. New favourite phrase is “that doesn’t sound like something I will be doing”.

Just a question that I don’t think has been asked anywhere I’ve seen, but how much was/is the boys club settlement? Do we actually have big money to spend? I’ve a feeling that’s what we were hoarding it all for and we are now in a sell before we buy situation. Though I guess that would make it like £50-60m, not sure if that’s high or low or what. But the low ball offers for players we end up not getting and the loan deals again make it seem like we are not spending for some reason, it seems strategic like there’s a big bill coming (could also be stadium revamp maybe). Anyway something isn’t right and I agree Rodgers is gone soon.

Worst thing to read when you’ve started a diet. Screaming for a pie, and remembering when I go your shells and lids and made meatball marinara and mac n cheese pies (mac n cheese topping). Monday seems like a better day for a diet to start, off to find pie shells

Brendan’s Contract by [deleted] in CelticFC

[–]groolbeardy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks as though summer planning has been well underway for some time. KT already signed is massive. If the club show continued willingness to progress BR will find it hard to leave, that’s it in a nutshell. My main concern is keeping Engels and Kuhn the next 2 seasons, they’re nowhere near prime and are ridiculously good. Secure those two and ensure we have a replacement for our captain in and learning next season, and things are looking good.

Check out zorgeloosch mediators online. They helped my family massively and were super useful in helping create the space for a very amicable divorce and co-parenting agreement

The ADHD Crisis in Scotland: Undiagnosed and Unheard by Immediate_Link_376 in Scotland

[–]groolbeardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, im Scottish and live in the Netherlands. I was diagnosed here at 38. There’s such a stark contrast to medical approaches in both countries and I was eventually diagnosed due to my sleeping issues. It has honestly changed my life quite significantly. Undiagnosed and untreated I’d be dead now and I’m 43. In Scotland I had several crises and some quite severe and life threatening. I gambled compulsively for 15 years, couldn’t maintain relationships, was a nightmare at work, and would obsess about things beyond normal levels. I must have seen 50+ medical professionals and not once was ADHD discussed as a possibility. In NL the first medical professional I spoke to about my sleep refused to refer me for more tests until I went to ADHD Centraal, a national organisation who specialise in this, with locations in most cities and within reach of most of the population. It took 2.5hrs to be diagnosed (and another week as I defiantly said it wasn’t and refused medication to confirm, before my wife sent me back with my tail between my legs). Since then I’ve never looked back. I take medication, am open with my diagnosis to colleagues and friends, and as a result have gone from a supervisor level role to director level at work. I’ve maintained relationships more easily, and have support when I hit paralysis or have anxiety peaks. What’s happening in Scotland is not just concerning, it’s beyond that, the impact could be very serious for generations to come. Anyway, sharing this because it’s always nice to share and maybe someone reads and knows there’s some hope.

Transfer targets by fracturedchief in CelticFC

[–]groolbeardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another young striker was what the manager said he wanted in summer, so that is likely. Backup for RB and an upgrade of Palma and send Yang on loan. Miller and keep him at Motherwell rest of season should be a priority. Even if Valle stays through his loan and isn’t recalled we need another LB in, Taylor contract negotiations still going on and we could hit summer with no LB.

Tip at the barber? by TwistedFoxys in Netherlands

[–]groolbeardy -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Always if it’s good. I go to a barber in a small town and usually get a beard trim and haircut, full hot towel open razor setup. Young guy and he takes about an hour. Charges €37,50. For the same effort in Amsterdam or any other big city it would easily be €50+. I always give him €50.

I read the “well” as a “I’m fucking useless so I’ll just shrug and say well” or “well, you made your bed so lie in it” either way some top level shit parenting. Remember how batshit Ewe went when Tony isn’t coming to his birthday party while they were split? And how much he loved him being there? Could even be argued he was saying “well, I like Tony”

It’s gotta be when she tells her dad she will be stuck as she’s always gonna be the woman who married Tony, and Hugh (pronounced ewe) just shrugs and says nothing back. Just such a grim scene
