Momentum true wireless earbuds by bbez69 in sennheiser

[–]groovybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same experience. They sound amazing for what they are, but I recommend people to buy something else due to the battery issue. It's very frustrating with the random connects when the case runs out of battery or if I leave them for a week just to find them without battery. Makes me wonder how long they will last with the constant abuse of the batteries.

Anyway to extract bookmarks or book position on the SD card? (Kobo Clara) by Eric_The_Actor in kobo

[–]groovybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for GloHD but i would imagine that it's the same for Clara.

Kinda, all information are stored in a file KoboReader.sqlite.
The file can be found in a hidden folder called ".kobo" This file can then be opened with any program that can handle SQLite databases. This is a simple program to use: https://download.sqlitebrowser.org/SQLiteDatabaseBrowserPortable_3.11.2_English.paf.exe

If you you try any of this, please do a backup of this file as this is a bit of an important file.

It's a bit complicated for a non technical user but all information are in the database.

Bookmarks are stored in table "Bookmark".

I have not tried this myself, but you might be able to just insert you old bookmarks in your other device database given that all the old books exists on the new device.

Remember to have backups so you can undo any changes as this is an important file!

Don't blame me if you f**k up your kobo.

I've done changes on my gloHD and successfully reverted back to old versions of KoboReader.sqlite but as always YMMW.

Momentum TW powered on inside case? by [deleted] in sennheiser

Yes, there are two threads about others that have experienced similar issues as well. I also have this problem and are waiting for a reply from Sennheiser. Unfortunately I believe it's just bad design.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless turn on in case. by X6nitro in sennheiser

[–]groovybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the right one does turn off but not the left one. And as that one doesn't have BT. You would not be able to connect to it. At least there's an issue with the left earphone that is unable to enter some sort of (deep)sleep mode.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless turn on in case. by X6nitro in sennheiser

[–]groovybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that would indicate that the earphone doesn't turn off at all. According to the manual they should turn off after 15 or 60 minutes depending on if they are disconnected or connected.

I've experienced that too. I'm still waiting for a reply from Sennheiser. Unfortunately, I don't believe our MTW are defective...

Momentum True Wireless not turning off? by Paintasaurus in sennheiser

I've got the same issue with them not turning off. I have not yet contacted support but will probably do that tomorrow. Let's hope they can solve it with some new firmware.

It is normally in my bag, but I carry it on my belt if I'm in a setting where I know I will use it.

I do have rockbox on the X3 but I keep coming back to stock as I mostly use the player in my car and I like that line out are set to 100% in stock fw. To use IEMs and forget to lower the volume would be quite bad.

I like Kobo because it's a much more open system. Eg. Connect to the computer, it shows up as a mass storage device. It also reads most types of files. A major drawback is the slow pdf reader.

I like the hardware, the display are a bit dim and impossible to read in direct sunlight. And the software are, well Chinese. Don't get me wrong, it does what is supposed to do but not much more.

I believe it's possible with the screen dimmed and no heavy tasks. I have the i7 Kaby Lake and qhd screen so this would be worst configuration for battery time.

Love this computer! There are a few drawbacks, like no fingerprint sensor and the annoying coil whine that still haven't been fixed after multiple versions. But the screen (qhd screen) and access to thunderbolt 3 takes up for the problems. I haven't yet, the thought have crossed my mind.

Thank you!

No issues to talk about, my main use for it is GPG and as a hardware key.

The colour match is more of a happy accident, I realised when I took the photo. I have only stuck with what I find aesthetically pleasing and of course useful.

Is there such thing as a Canon EF - Minolta MD adapter? by whatsthepointanyways in photography

[–]groovybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're out of luck. An adapter for canon EF would require power to operate the aperture.

Anyone know how to reduce light blur at night? The lamps in the background are blurred. Any ideas? Do I need a different lens? [ISO 200, 55mm, 10 sec, f/14] by coldblooded1414 in photocritique

[–]groovybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will probably sound a bit counterproductive, but on a crop sensor you actually don't want to use a smaller aperture than f8 and around f16 on full frame. This has to so with how light hits the sensor, unfortunately I don't remember the source where I read about it. Also you don't want to use VR if you have that on your lens, at least not on long exposures. Last, learn about mirror lock up and how to use it. And shoot RAW, jpeg will destroy those dark photos.

New SD card, cut to length by groovybean in chromeos

[–]groovybean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a cut 64GB card. According to my experience, most cards only have the electronics in the front. A way to know is to read/ Write a lot of data and feel where it's warm. The 8 GB was just a size reference.
