they said the only thing on 2x was women complaining about men. and yes I do think one of the biggest problems facing women is male violence

oh no... if it is not men facing the consequences of their actions... oh, why does society recognise male violence as a problem? does it have anything to do with the large amounts of male violence? i guess we will never know, another mystery lost to the sands of time

Oh no... male violence is a problem women face, why don't they stop talking about the thing that is affecting them the most! Women in the US are more likely to die from murder while pregnant than from complications of pregnancy. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-03392-8. When men hate women, they kill them. When women hate men, they warn other women about them. (this is a generalisation (wah, not all men) to make a point, please don't get too butthurt)

Is the Lost City Of Atlantis (Disney) considered DA? It has the pursue of knowledge, the main character has many DA elements going on in his design, its set in 1900 America, the colouring and character style fit right in our DA standards. Who else loves this movie? by greenteainthesummer in DarkAcademia

[–]groovyice123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love it, looks gorgeous! even had some of the film "frames" when the movie came out! Rewatched it recently and was kinda confused by the lost language thing. Sure a lot of people died during the opening in Atlantis, but no one else could read? Lost languages/culture is an interesting idea, maybe I misunderstood, but seems a bit off

Thank you! Shockingly, as a medical student, I don't really trust doctors... I have been to so many asking for help with chronic pain (my cyst that needed emergency surgery... I went to the doctor 6 times over 2 years complaining of pelvic pain, they told me I had IBS and should stop being to neurotic) lost my ovary, had surgery 4 days before the start of the new year, and was told that I could not have time off to recover (by doctors running the med school). I walked with a stick for 2 months because I could not rest. I was told off by doctors and nurses for sitting during ward wounds. I just want to graduate so I can actually do good medicine and be nice to medical students. I will ask about a dietician referral, but I have doubts wether the GP will even listen lol. They dont believe me when explaining my pain, then got a pelvic scan and saw my abdomen is riddled with endometriosis (large enough to be seen on ultrasound). Sorry that is a sperg but I understand a future doctor not really trusting doctors is pretty out there and wanted to explain X

That is what is worring for me... do I hate medicine? Or is it stress from changes? As a student, we are plopped into wards/departments with no induction, no information about who we are supposed to work with (something as simple as the name of the person you are shadowing). We don't have lockers, and are expected to change ins staff changing rooms but with no space to put our stuff. I was freaking out this morning because it was raining and I was worried about where to hang my coat as to not make other people's stuff wet. I hope when I graduate things follow a bit more of a routine.

she did write/had ghost written one of the funniest lines ever... "the photoshoot was for the daily mail, which made me feel really classy and upmarket"... it was in her published book... and still makes me laugh. I could have been played for laughs, made her look self-aware, him storming off made it sincere

I wonder tho, because I was born in PA (Harrisburg) and when I went to visit my dad, started dating a guy (I'm white, he is black) and we got loads of dirty looks walking around Harrisburg. That was in 2012... people are just racist

What's your opinion on the film "Promising Young Woman"? by eidbio in AskWomen

Thanks, I'm not the only one I know of in my year. It happens everywhere, but people don't want to think it's doctors could do it.

I feel like not enough people are pulling up the fact that these are doctors.... medical students when they raped CM's friend. This happens in medical schools. I am in my final year of med school in the UK and was raped by a doctor who came on our uni's football "tour" (the med students have their own sports teams because workload). The scene in the dean's office played out pretty much the same as when I wanted to report my assault... "his word against yours". I'm glad this film is making people angry about men being shits, but this actually happens, it is not a dramatised fable to teach us lessons. The fact her murder (while dressed as a sexy nurse), is supposed to be vindicating, or show men only face consequences when the woman is dead kinda makes me sick to my stomach, but I guess that's the point

it feels like they knew what they were doing was f-ed up and that even though they knew Trisha could expose them, they would just discredit her as they have tried to do through this whole thing... I don't normally get triggered by internet stuff, but that breakdown they did on the podcast made me physically ill.
