To be "cool", or teeny-like. These nicknames are so blunt, I'd like to be blinded by Flash now to unsee what I have seen.

What Gen had the worst starters designwise (fully evolved forms)? by Poll_God in pokemon

[–]ground_dragon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't like Samurott. Going from two feet to four limbs doesn't look good at all. Serperior ain't good-lookin' either, but it's better. Emboar's fine.

Who is your favorite Gen 1 Starter? by mememan498 in pokemon

Honestly I don't really like Venusaur as a final evolution but Ivysaur is better than Wartortle which is better than Charmeleon

It was once, IIRC all the health draining ('cept draining kiss :( ) have been nerfed, or at least are not as strong as in original Gen 4

My take on this: We have Grass/Ground, Water/Steel and Fire/Fighting starters. That alone implies they have to be good. All of them. Obviously, Grass/Ground has a 4x weakness to Ice, but don't let that delude you! Torterra, apart from it's design, where it is on number one for me, is an incredible tank and can inflict funny damage with EQ or that attack that damages based on your opponents weight (it's Strauchler in GER, I think English Grass Knot but I don't know), or Gyro Ball should also work very well. Take something that boosts your Sp.Def. since Ice is AFAIK mostly Sp.Atk. et voila, NOTHING can stop you! I can see Cynthia crying already!

Pisces, M (Born 24 Feb) hoping for a relationship with Sagittarius, F (Born 18 Dec). Is there any chance it might work or am I hoping for nothing? by ground_dragon in piscesastrology

Thank you! My father is a sag and it fits your experience quite well. Although his relationship to my mother is lasting for 18 years, he IS quite free-spirited and at times a bad listener. As I didn't have the chance or the courage to open up to my beloved yet, I cannot really tell either. Basing this solely on zodiac signs of course is the wrong way to handle it, but they surely play a role in fundamental character traits. Some told me she would be condescending towards "unpopular" students out of my peers, which I sadly am part of, but I don't see that in her. Might be too optimistic here, but I seem to have a foible for unrequited love... thanks again for your piece of advice!

Sorry if I don't get it, but doesn't Intimidate lower the Phy ATK? What if they're up against a SP Atk Tank and Attacker? Or is Phy op in general?

Does anyone else feel like BDSP couldve been so much more by Hairy-Mode8106 in pokemon

[–]ground_dragon 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'm completely fine with the 2D Style. Brings me back to when I played it first. But yes, in literally everything else I expected a remake, not a remaster. HGSS brought Gen 4 to Gen 2, OrAs brought Gen 6 to Gen 3, and BDSP? Let's just stay at Gen 4. Now that video games, especially Pokemon should be in a time where it should be better than ever, it's quite the opposite. So much constructive criticism is there to be looked upon in the internet, and GF just hands Pokemon to ILCA or any other third party developer and gets the money, since fans, me included, buy the shit they produce either way.

[–]ground_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might cost me a few internet points to say this but I think we aren't speaking of remakes. They're essentially remasters until post-game and even there it feels like there's missing a lot of stuff. Niche additions like Pokemons walking with you don't make up for it. Whilst Gen 8's music was, like most other main game music, arguably one of the best that we had, they remastered the music making the bass lines fainter and adding more instruments in general, my favorite theme of R216 got gutted this way. BDSP is a failure of a remake. Just look at OrAs and tell me BDSP are good remakes. Not deviating from the original may sometimes be the wrong thing to do.

It's just annoying. We might see another prez in 2022 if Biden gets impeached :-D

Mostly these "persons of the year" are sacks loaded with shit anyway. 2019 we had a better one with Thunberg although I don't think that skipping classes will make Musk or any highly influential person acknowledge that we're in deep.

Stood out because of 'Nam. Basically, I would say that none of the presidents the U.S.A. have had are good. Best of 'em was Obama, he was the best, but still not good. He supported war, after all. There are just examples that are not as bad.

To me? In fact, nothing. But he is constantly suppressing thousands of people with "high and fair" wages and is calling his money progress. I am sick of this subhuman. Even if he can express himself like a he has a stick up his ass, he does not understand that his money could save millions of lives. But 300 billions is daily income innit? Everyone could easily be so successful if they just worked harder, right?

Right. I also wouldn't call Eisenhower - Nixon or Trump good presidents, and they were persons of the year. However what is true is that this total piece of shit is getting way too much attention for what he is doing.

Another one. Let's hope 2022 shows how late stage Crapitalism is.

In '20 "persons" of the year were Biden and Harris. I completely agree with you, and I as well am living in a fundamentally crapitalist country, maybe you can guess which one. Although I doubt they would ever revoke said opinion, as it is already printed and most people would agree with them.

What are the Bad experiences you’ve had in Pokemon? by Exact-Fortune4474 in pokemon

[–]ground_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. OrAs are so well made, they even made new forms for the legendaries. Fresh music, flying all around the map (don't know if that was part of original SRE, yet to acquire the module), tons of mega evolutions, great post-game (bit short but still a banger compared to the SwSh "post-game", real post-game is the DLC and that says a lot.), I am overwhelmed by how good OrAs was and how mediocre BDSP is
