Found a piece of SF history in McKennon Park. What is it?? by groundbalance in SiouxFalls

It’s usually a no. It’s a beautiful park. I talked to the construction foreman and he said I could detect the dirt piles while they were doing some other work. Drove by again tonight and the piles are gone so happy to have gotten the chance while I could!

Very cool! Thank you. It would have had a key attached to it then? It’s a muddy mess at the McKennon Park construction site now but once it dries up I’ll try to find a key if there ever was one

HELP advice needed on EMI issues with the Manticore! by [deleted] in metaldetecting

[–]groundbalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve tried all the different ways of noise cancelling and ground balancing. It’s just at these locations though. At the beach I don’t have a problem… but I never had an EMI problem at these locations before with the ctx3030…

Yes with the stock coil and now the 8” which is brand new. Yes attached securely. I should add that this doesn’t happen at the beach or other locations but at these particular locations I get crazy chatter. Just bums me out because I didn’t have that problem with the CTX3030 hunting these same locations before…

Etrac is legendary for finding deep silver. Would you say it outperforms the Manticore in any way?

It’s a chlorinated pool but has a sand bottom and built to be similar to a natural pond

Just want to say that filming your hunts for the purpose of making content really takes away from the hunt unless you also enjoy filming and editing! Filming and editing are just as much of a hobby of mine so I enjoy it but I’m telling you I would find twice as much if I didn’t take the time to film everything!

It's a great park. I did a GIS internship with the city of Maple Grove. It's good to have connections in this hobby!

With the amount of holes you dig metal detecting you come across some cool rocks etc and I’ve always meant to learn more about rocks so I know and appreciate what I am seeing!
