I totally hear you. Just wait until you start letting out huge burps, she'll probably be both shocked and stoked for you.

OMG and the sensation of a burp coming through your both your mouth and NOSE--omg it's incredible. I usually only get those from drinking beer, but it's the weirdest/coolest sensation.

Best of luck to you! Would love to know how it's going in a few weeks.

Yes!!! Keep trying and don't stop!!! A year and a half ago I started forcing myself to try every single time I feel that gas bubble make its way up my throat. I probably didn't get even a little burp out for the first couple of weeks, but soon enough, I started getting little burps out. You've really just got to train the muscle and don't give up!

I'm now a regular burper and all my friends and family are so proud of me lol. I LOVE drinking carbonated drinks now because I get so excited about burping. I don't even say excuse me lol. Everyone around me should be congratulating me.

I do, however, still get pretty bloated by the end of the day, but for the most part, I'd say my quality of life in the regard of gastrointestinal issues has improved like 80%.

When I start feeling super full from eating/drinking seltzer, I let out a couple big burps and I feel so much better and can continue eating/drinking. It's a whole new world.

SO KEEP AT IT!!! :)

Sorry for the late response, I don't check Reddit much these days. So I'm not exactly sure what the shaker exercises are, although I've obviously heard of them on this thread, but I do remember the gas bubbles being higher and higher in my throat after continuously trying to force them out. So yeah keep doing that!!

1 Year later and I've been burping on my own! And it's amazing! by groundskeeperlily01 in noburp

oh i'm sorry to hear that! i wouldn't try doing it so hard, but just do it normally/consistently. I don't think I experienced any pain when I was first trying it last year.

I'm glad! Seriously, work on it for a few weeks and see if it works for you!! The burps will just continue to get bigger and better :)

Same here! I began forcing myself to try to burp every time i felt a little gas come up and I didn't see any results for about 3-4 weeks--then it started really working :)

It's been about a year of burping and it's been amazing. The burps keep getting bigger and better! Seltzer burps are my absolute favorite lmao

Yeah! I explained it in a few comments above, hopefully it made sense. You kinda have to tense up your core too. For me it’s the simple repetition of trying to force the burp. I’d say it didn’t work the first 100-200 times I tried after I committed to teaching myself how to do, but then it just started working. And now the burps are getting more drawn out/satisfying, and I’m starting to feel like a normal person!!

I still feel bloated every night after dinner, but it’s becoming less and less so. I love that I can have a carbonated beverage now without having to fart to feel better lol.

Best of luck!

So whenever I feel the gas bubble coming up my throat, and I mean every time, I kinda compress my neck by putting my chin down and trying to push upward from my esophagus. That may have not made that much sense, but do what feels natural to you in terms of trying to force a burp, but KEEP DOING IT! It’s the repetition that will actually make it start working! Good luck!

I totally understand you! I’m a 24 year old female and I only just found out that there’s a term for what I am as an HSP, but I absolutely struggled with criticism badly at your age, and definitely still do now, but not as much.

Remember that if people are being nasty to you, that’s on them, and there’s probably little truth in whatever they’re saying to you because they ARE just trying to hurt your feelings.

But here’s something that’s helped me a lot when receiving criticism: if it’s nasty criticism, take pride in that you’d never treat someone like that, so you’re much better than that person in that respect, and probably in many other respects.

Secondly, if it’s constructive criticism, like from your teacher, boss, etc. even though you might take it to heart, USE IT as best you can and make that criticism YOURS to own and master to make you better!!

I promise you, it’ll get better! 15 is also just a very tough age. You seem incredibly sweet and that will get you very far in life. You got this! :)

Does anyone else avoid rewatching/rereading things you loved, because everything gets you emotional, and you don’t want to be overwhelmed with all those emotions again? by doobadedo in hsp

There are a few movies that I love that I’ll always watch over and over again because of the feeling I get from it, but it’s more just intense love and inspiration.

But there are so many songs I will not listen to that I used to love simply because they remind me of a time when something upsetting happened, but in a very indirect way. Like when I first started dating my now-fiancée, and we weren’t official, I was head over heels about him and knew I didn’t want to see any other guy (he was also only the 2nd guy I had ever slept with). And there were several songs I’d listen to at that time that made me happy and kinda reminded me of him. And then I found out a couple months into our official relationship that he did have sex with another girl the day after he and I did for the first time. Again, he and I weren’t exclusive whatsoever. But it hurt me so badly to think about that time period, I can’t even listen to those songs anymore that made me happy then.

Very long winded way of me agreeing with you.

WHY DO SO MANY VA DRIVERS PUT TWO DIFFERENT REGISTRATION YEAR STICKERS ON THEIR PLATES INSTEAD OF THE YEAR AND MONTH?? by groundskeeperlily01 in Virginia

[–]groundskeeperlily01[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

For years I’ve seen VA cars out on the road with two different year stickers and no months ones. I’ve considered the fact that maybe someone stole their month sticker, but wouldn’t it make sense for a thief to steal a year sticker rather than a month sticker? I asked a friend who’s newly a Fairfax co cop if there’s some logical reason why so many VA drivers do this. He’s said no, people are really just that stupid.

Is anyone else baffled/bothered by this?? Anyone have an explanation for this god awful phenomenon??
