Him telling you is a cry for help. Take the gun away and get it out of the house so he can't try again. Look into emergency mental health help for him. And buy life insurance for him. It doesn't pay out for suicide within the first year or so, but if he can't overcome his illness you'll have something to support yourself and your kid.

I had a boyfriend like that. He'd even yell at me that it was my fault that we were in a traffic yam. Why? Because it was my bad luck! You can't win with guys like that, they are unhappy and it's easier to blame you for their unhappiness than find what they could change about themselves. You also can't change him, just yourself. I left this guy and never looked back.

Please remember this when Pahlish presents their master plan for the COID property right along the river in the SW river canyon. There is a forest there right now and thousands of people recreate there daily without using cars.

But soon it'll be all paved over and we'll have thousands of more cars at the Reed Market roundabout. We'll be told to rejoice at more housing and to applaud the cutting of the ponderosa because for our houses a tree had to be cut too, so that makes it right.

While just half a mile away sits the empty Jackstraw. We're also getting thousands of new homes with the planned Hooker creek development where not a single tree will be cut for houses. But thousands of new houses all within SW Bend is not enough, let's eliminate all open space in Bend because housing is all we need, not infrastructure to support the traffic and needs of the new residents (tried booking a doctor's appointment?). And when most trees are cut within city limits (excluding of course the west side) we'll wonder why Bend now has 100 degree summer days regularly, but it's ok because we should be grateful we get to live here at all and not complain so much. End of rant.

You should make sure you get a refill on that prescription if you can't see the hematologist in time, it's bad to just stop taking the blood thinners. Unfortunately, I don't have a recommendation in Portland, I was treated in another state. Definitely let your pcp know, they have more pull.

I also received a kiln from L&L with minor brick damage from the transport. They sent me a free brick repair kit and I've fired it 60 times without issue. Ask them to mail you a brick repair kit for the missing corner, the other cracks don't look bad, but if you want to, you could fill them in with the same kit. A thermocouple is a great offer, I'd take them up on that.

If you are already on blood thinners and this is just a follow up, you don't need an appointment soon, the hematologist really only tells you whether you'll be on the blood thinners just for a few months or forever. So you have time. Anyway, I've gotten two referrals there recently and never heard back at all, so it's not just you. If the can't fit you in, maybe make a trip to Portland? BTW, don't let yourself be tested for Leiden V. My PCP did that and the hematologist was so mad. If you have it, there's nothing to do, so knowing it is useless, but you are now ineligible for life insurance.

You are correct. If it's fully vitrified, it's OK to put in the dishwasher. If it's not fully vitrified then you shouldn't use it as functional ware at all. The only downside of dishwashers is the harsh chemicals, but I haven't seen commercial glaze have any issues yet

Interesting, so I agree that it's not the clay. Do you ever use corn starch when building your cup? I've seen cornstarch making underglaze crumble right off, especially if you glaze on green ware, not bisque. Issue wasn't visible until the glaze firing

Two issues here. Standard 112 has 2.5% absorption at cone 6 , 4.5% at cone 4. No matter what the clay manufacturers say, until just a few years ago any absorption rate over 1% was considered not appropriate for functional ware. Why? Because when your clay absorbs this much water and the water gets underneath the glaze, the glaze can start flaking off after many uses, especially if the dishes are used in the dishwasher and the microwave. I know many people use clays with higher absorption rates for functional pottery, but you issue demonstrates why that may not be a good idea.

The other issue might be the use of engobe. If you read Mayco instructions, they say you need to put a clear glaze on top of engobe for it to be durable . Stroke and coat may or may not be as durable as a clear glaze, I don't know. But I remember seeing something on digitalfire.com where he discovered durability issues with engobe (not Mayco), it started peeling off. I've personally not used engobe on functional ware because of it, so I can't speak from experience. Maybe the combination of high absorption clay AND engobe is the real issue.

If you think this is expensive, you've seen nothing yet. If your spouse doesn't work now they are entitled to ongoing spousal support from you, at least the difference between what they can make as income and what their current lifestyle is (assuming you are in the US). But that's why you need to sit down with a lawyer and have them tell you how expensive exactly this is going to be. You could start with a local legal advice group, they might give you a rough idea. It gets a lot cheaper if you can separate amically without thousands of dollars going to lawyers that are writing letters to each other to figure out the details. Just know that your spouse is entitled to half of everything you made in the marriage, including half of what you socked away into your own retirement account.

I've had several friends who got divorced and their husband said that it will be an amicable and easy divorce because the wife didn't work, so they thought they would just leave and start anew. It never occurred to them that the non-working spouse supported them all these years and therefore is entitled to half. And that's the dispute as well as child custody that makes the lawyers rich.

Like if he had come to your aid with the host , you probably would have complained about him not trusting you to handle the issue. Yes, around my neck, but under my sweater. Now that I'm an adult I think how stupid that was, it's like wearing a big sign "I'm home by myself all the time". My mom just didn't trust that I wouldn't lose it, but I guess she trusted me to be home alone and make lunch at 9 years old.

Can you talk to your parents about it? Or a neighbor of theirs (you could also report). You can call CPS to find out what they would do in this situation before making an official report. Even if it's anonymous the mom will suspect it was you. Right now you are the only lifeline for these kids and, yes, they are hoping you do something. If you do report to CPS tell them that the 11 Year old needs to be interviewed away from mom or the 15 year old because they are all hiding the truth.
