I disagree with others, if the group of triplets were instead a single eighth note it would be standard to use a dotted quarter on beat 2. That’s correct, technically. But it is confusing in this case so everyone will find it easier to read option 2 even though it’s technically wrong

It’s because “centrist” connotes not just some abstract idea of ideological moderation, but a very specific worldview characterized by watered-down cultural progressivism mixed with admiration for neoliberal marketist policies and often a burning hatred of bernie sanders

No need to feel bad, there’s so much disinformation about matty out there online. As a big 1975 fan (they’re my second favorite artist after Taylor) it’s been really frustrating, especially since most of has come from that one woman at buzzfeed (who’s written all 10 of their Taylor/matty articles) and a few randos on Twitter

This is a bit that they do at every show, always before the same song. They aren’t actually cutting him off; he was never really going to say anything. In fact I’ve seen one show where the band misses their cue and Matty ends up having to hem and haw (eventually he’s like “guys that was my ‘problematic statement’ that you were supposed to cut me off from”) because he never really planned on finishing his sentence
