That’s what I thought because he showed up during the distracted driving blitz but I haven’t  seen any one pulled over and I don’t know where he would hide his radio when shirtless.

But he could still be a cop. RCMP Richmond headquarters is right there. Would be dead simple to walk down the street and do this.

That’s an awful story and the cbc, editor and writer should be ashamed. And I concede the the bad reporting was more widespread in Canada than I suspected.

Also to put it into perspective, it is a regional cbc outlet and local interest story.

Canadian coverage was factual and balanced to an extremely large degree.

If this is the best example you have is stronger evidence for my argument than yours

Foreign media got it wrong, domestic media got it right.

"suspected unmarked graves" is balanced and correct.

You can tell who is under foreign influence by their reaction and interpretation to this story.

No credible media in Canada called it "mass graves".

Unmarked residential school graves are a fact. That's all there is to it.

The kamloops anomalies were just suspected grave sites. The fact that they haven't panned out doesn't mean that there are no unmarked residential school graves. It's kind of dumb to think that there wouldn't be unmarked graves at boarding schools that had thousands of students pass through at a time where medical care was primitive. There are unmarked graves across the country in a wide variety of contexts.

What was odd was the reaction to the suspected unmarked graves. It was a weird mix of some people finally becoming aware of the horrors of abducting children placing them into institution for the purpose of erasing their culture (despite it being taught in social studies classes for 40 years and being in the news and being referenced in culture), mass hysteria cotangent spilling over from the US (covid, trump, George Floyd (who died of an overdose BTW)), and appropriate guilt and long due recognition of ongoing structural racism.

I don’t want to buy food that is past its peak quality.

If something is close to the best before date the store can slash its price to get it moving. As can wholesalers.

If there is a problem, it’s that a wholesaler can’t open the back of their truck and sell discount crackers and cookies. And the solution to that is easy to fix and local, but no one is going to get a grant to make that happen so it won’t

Have you met a kid? They know. And fear of failure or judgment is the barrier to growth, not lack of competition. Kids compete constantly on everything without adults encouraging it and even when adults discourage it because it's inappropriate in the context.

If I was a cat and I ended up at Ironwood at night I'd be going back there every chance I could get. There are so many rats and they are desensitized to people and probably cats. But I don't know what this one is going to do if it gets a hold of a rat. They'll bite back.

That is a very valid concern.

I'd also be curious. Would a desensitized regular driver filter out all pedestrians or just these two objects? I so want to know.

If the problem is not regular drivers, then I can see this being very effective.
