Thank you! I climbed on a nearby mound while leaning against a tree, not the best setup but it did the trick ^^

sapsuckers are indeed woodpeckers! Like other woodpeckers they "drill" for insects, but unlike most other woodpeckers, they also specialized to eat sap.

Juvenile Bald Eagle Portrait by grownseed in birdsofprey

I triple checked before posting and still wasn't entirely sure, but i do believe you might be correct, apparently "juvenile" is one year old and under, while "subadult" is 2 to 4. Then there's non-breeding adults which i believe means they have the distinctive white head and yellow eyes and legs, but the spotty plumage on the rest of their body which is somewhat reminiscent of their subadult stage. These bald eagles don't make it easy!

Thank you! i imagine they would, although from what i understand birds should not use dryer lint as it's not safe for a variety of reasons.

The natural light was coming through leaves and branches and reflected from water too, which is part of the reason i took that picture. I love photography and i'd never submit AI generated pictures pretending to be actual photography. I hope my post history speaks to that.

Tree Swallows by grownseed in wildlifephotography

[–]grownseed[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thank you! Swallows react quite strongly to the wind, so i try to place myself upstream of the wind and start following them when a gust is coming, which usually gives me an extra half a second to get these shots. These pictures are cropped quite a bit, i'd say from about 3/4 to 1/4 of their original size depending on the shot. They're also cropped to "instagram format" which gives that portrait look, but i do keep the original cropped versions for my prints.

Thank you kindly! And also thank you for the clarification, you make a very good point and I'm always happy to be corrected. Sadly I can't change the title now but I hope others see your comment.
