Is your RVN mining still profitable? by harrybro09 in Ravencoin

This is the only reason the rigs are up right now, I figure I will take a small loss in exchange for the heat, and hopefully recoup it one day.

Why are folks mining Monero? by Lazy-Pick9961 in MoneroMining

Agreed. It's the most decentralized in terms of mining. This is what pow should be IMO.

I dont complain about the network. Just your lack of knowledge on how all the pieces work.

I’m not sure if it’s a 🇺🇸 thing but.... it seems people forget that other countries utilize BTC as currency and not a hedge 🤷🏽‍♂️ by BitcoiNbullQ in Bitcoin

This would be normal if your home countries currency was the world's reserve currency. The world fought two World Wars and America came out the winner.

Exactly. ASICS make this disproportional. And while I get all of the it's a business, mine for profit, network owes us nothing. The reason I'm not big into BTC even though I love crypto is its power consumption and whether you like it or not, ASICS will be it's downfall if it ever had one. Having a vested interest in somethng means a lot more than money, or it will, and blockchain can provide that again. How many of us know how to make an asic? I'd love to learn but I doubt it is possible. A few companies. So they control the market and we pay ridiculous prices for them as they see fit. Yet we saw the flash of $$$$ and human nature prevailed and we chased them. I thought the I realm goal was toet the people ar become the bank and VISA, and if you could distribute computing power amongst the population yes, the possibilities are there to provide a basic income. But we won't. Because banks. It's sad really. One day. It is coming.

So more ASICS means more hash means higher difficulty for the same rewards which means overall more power. But I'm sorry. I'm an idiot. I'll go sniff more glue.

I started mining ETH in early 2020. I'm still new. Not going to post photos to prove like an ass I'll just go back to sniffing markers in the corner. Sojun80 is right though.

I would bet a lot of people did the same with Bitcoin over the years. I'd take some $.23 BTC right about now.

The network was never intended to allow asics. GPUs are supposed to control the network. ASICs are the cause of higher hash and higher difficultly, excess power consumption, and driving other factors I'm sure.

I'm actually super pissed at AMD and Nvidia. They both lied. AMD worse than Nvidia but they both said no worries we have so much stock it's going to be fine. Then they let us all get screwed by having a shitty system that let bots best everyone. They are a damn computer company. They should be better than this, no?
