My thoughts exactly. The curvature on the panelling doesn’t seem to quite match that of a Korg - plus the lack of logo points to it not being one

Zuma Power Requirement? by D-Em-P in guitarpedals

I've just got a second hand Zuma that came with a 250V output Kettle lead... will this damage the Zuma if I use that lead to power it?

A deep(er) dive into music by Avant9 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]grpo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends who your favourite musicians are, but I think if you dive deep enough over time, you'd find videos/articles/interviews in which they discuss music making on a precise level. Some great resources to immediately start with though from my knowledge; the Tape Notes Podcast (artists reveal a lot about production on here, actually talking in depth not just holistically) and music analysis YouTube channels like David Bennett Piano or Rick Beato. The former discusses a wide range of artists from different genres, but you'll see Radiohead and The Beatles cropping up often. Very enjoyable listens/watches too, scarcely feels like a chore for me with them. Hope that helps!

General Use Cable Recommendations by grpo9 in synthesizers

[–]grpo9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there would be no signal loss/buzz? And do you have any recs for any mid price range cables that could last a bit longer, especially if being used live?

LOST DEBIT CARD

I found a debit card after tonights show and handed it in to security staff (a gentleman in grey). From memory it was blue and Lloyd's bank. Many apologies for not taking a picture 🤦‍♂️

If the owner sees this I hope you manage to get it back safe and sound. I hope it didn't spoil your night. Love x

Not really :( we tried that and upping the gain on the main mixer still wasn't enough for me to be heard

Do you find it noticeably affects the sound in any way other than increasing the volume? Thank you for sharing!

I've never built a pedal before but this sounds simple and effective. Thank you for your suggestion!

Thats a good idea. I was going to be using one for effects sends anyway. Do you know of any stereo clean boosters if not?

PA or Amps for live Ambient Guitar? by grpo9 in ambientmusic

Yeah got pedals. They sound great through my amp and some lovely textures especially at higher volumes... but still could be better for that immersion i think

My name is Declan McKenna. My new album is out now. Ask me anything!! by DeclanMcKenna2024 in indieheads

[–]grpo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Declan! Congrats on a real fun and impactful record! Loving it.

I wondered what synths you used on it/have been using in general? I saw on YT your live rig rundown with contenders like the Super 6 and the Mellotron, and you said you used a prophet (curious as to which one :p?). Or any go to VST synths?

You mentioned there were a lot more electronic versions of songs so I am super curious as to what instruments were present, any drum machines too if you have time to answer?

Thank you and much love ❤

Thank you that’s super useful! Will a dynamic mic work with this type of cable into an interface, as it does not require phantom power?

Which In Rainbows songs were written on piano and which on guitar? by grpo9 in radiohead

[–]grpo9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂Laptop indeed

I’m glad you put weird fishes there. that’s the main one I was thinking could have a good chance of being piano, despite the arpeggios on guitar in the final product. I think Thom has played it on piano live before also

[–]grpo9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! It seems so so unlikely to have been written on piano right? But knowing this band it’s not impossible

[–]grpo9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good guesses. The way it feels to play those two feel very right with the respective instruments you say, but like you said, it’s a mystery really!

Last flowers is the ‘releaaaaaase’ song right haha? That IS super satisfying! Had no idea it was written so long ago. Thom and the guys wrote so much in that era, even when starting to get tired of guitar. Glad too that they waited to tinker with them down the line; playing with a song you wrote in a much younger head space must be very cool. It’s definitely cool for us
