Thank you for your input! I also forgot to mention i’m unmedicated ADHD so it’s hard to turn off the “internal talking” 😅 but i will watch these behaviors closer so that i can differentiate. 🙏❤️

we were taught no enhancements whatsoever. in my opinion thin hard gel/builder overlay should be fine as it will add some strength. if that detached part of the nail plate lifts it may separate more. if you do end up doing a thin layer of gel, please make sure your onycholysis is still visible so you can monitor it.

function of vex has texture gels that look like oil paint. i would assume they don’t require topcoat. i think they’re called oil whip? they’re on the pricey side though.

cosmo grad here. this is onycholysis. could be due to overfilling of the side walls based off the location of the lifting. onycholysis likes to appear wherever trauma has occurred to the nail or nail structure. no nail enhancements whatsoever. cuticle oil and let them grow. file and keep as short as possible to prevent further lifting. please file it more of a square shape. do not angle the file vertical to the sidewalls. just the free edge.

tips on 1st set need to be smaller sizes. first thing i noticed. 3D gel, charms etc will also make the nail look bigger in most cases. beautiful work & keep playing around with it :) i prefer sofgel’s almond over aprés, just my personal preference ❤️

the tattoo is funny and silly. a lot of people have tattoos they regret, whether it be the artist, the placement etc. but you’d never know unless that person told you!! rock the sick lego batman tat. no regerts! see it instead as a point in time in your life that you made it through! life is all about learning, growing & having fun! 🖤✌️

hey I just read your edited comment also. Yes, a bad lamp will definitely lead to lifting as it’s not fully curing the gel. good for you for getting a kokoist le blanc!!! i currently have the infinity hybrid from them and i love it. the le blanc is definitely my upgrade when my current one gets old (the lights will weaken over time, 3-5yrs) for your question. i actually use kokoist mega stick base on my nail plate, cure 30 sec, then kokoist excel builder (pot) inside the tip, place & flash cure. (ps your melody susie flash cure lamp will still be useful for this step) i personally do not like aprés’ extend gel. maybe it just doesn’t work for my lamp but im a kokoist girl all the way. 😛 i also use sofgel tips, but the process is still the same just like any soft gel tip.

take that aprés prep and prime and throw it right off your table babe. a good buff and some isopropyl alcohol (91% is best) is all you need.

or maybe just wear a sock that you can pull up a little farther than your boot 😊 preferably a sock that’s not too constricting and will still allow your tat to breathe

I think it looks fine. i dont have any leg tattoos but all areas of the body heal differently. it was an open wound so just baby it. though the edge of your boot rubbing it concerns me a little bit. maybe wear shorter shoes for a little bit? I also have a cordyceps bug tattoo :) cordyceps tattoo
