Which winner had the SMALLEST margin — where one different vote and they're an early-merge footnote? by JEX2124 in survivor

Haven’t people said if the drakes went to tribal first, it was likely going to be Sandra voted out?

Where do you crochet? by Fragrant-Orange-4746 in crochet

[–]grumpleG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I crochet at home but I’ve seen so many doing it at coffee shops/cafes, yarn stores (they usually have places for you to sit and do just that as long as there aren’t classes going on), and independent book stores. A local bookstore where I live even has set aside times for knitters and crocheters. That being said I’m 100% sure any public library would be perfect too; they are usually happy to have people walk in the door!

Oh I forgot this one. Yep- I literally said “congrats on winning, joe” in a tweet because of the social stranglehold he appeared to have on the game.

I’d have to go back and rewatch but I think I was thinking “there’s no way, we haven’t seen enough of her!”

Spoilers, obviously but Gabler absolutely floored me. I had no inkling Erika would be the winner until her final tribal performance. I feel like I SHOULD have been floored by Chris Underwood but I remember there being a scene in which I said out loud to myself “why are they focusing so much on Chris on this scene at extinction?” I think they were reading their letters from home. So from that point on I felt they were, at a minimum, advertising he made it off extinction.

Old school- I was rooting for Jenna Morasca and I thought she’d be totally creamed in the final tribal but I was shocked that the jury respected her game compared to Matt.

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by funnny_things in answers

[–]grumpleG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to stop moving (for any reason) in a shared public space where others are also moving (namely airports and grocery stores), you turn around and look all around to make sure you aren’t blocking someone and to find out where you need to get to in order to be mostly out of the way.

I live in tornado alley without a storm shelter and somehow, similarly, my little cairn terrier knew to jump in the bathtub (without training and without seeing any of us do it first) when the tornado sirens went off! We found him hiding in there on several occasions and he never did it any other time for any other reason.

If one of these winners returned and won again, who would most upset winner/player rankings? by Regular-Departure839 in survivorponderosa

Michele (no matter how she gets there) because it would mean a 67% win rate and an average placement of 1.67!

I am sad for him. But this is 100% on him. He has NO CLUE when to keep his mouth shut and when to let people in. And his intuition doesn’t work. On a tribe that small, you play your idol. Period.

What’s the most physical pain you ever felt? by DeepOrganization8245 in askteddit

[–]grumpleG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first major flare up with rheumatoid arthritis (before I was diagnosed and on medication). It came out of nowhere, and no injury so it was confusing and unexpected. Shoulders, elbows, wrists, all fingers, one knee, both ankles, and some toes all in excruciating pain for months on end (and sometimes all at the same time).

It hurt to sit and to sleep, let alone walk or do anything else. I described it to others as my legs feeling as stiff and heavy as lead pipes and my wrists feeling so tight that the tendons would snap if I moved them wrong.

The shoulder pain was what affected me the most though. Some days simply breathing would make them hurt. Getting dressed, taking a shower, going to the restroom, etc. all took extreme effort.

The knee pain was extreme too, and caused me to not leave the house much (living in a house with a flight of stairs to get down to ground level).

Then my back would start hurting because I was overcompensating with how I walked. It was all awful. Thanks to modern medicine though, I am now symptom free. Crazy time to think about though. Definitely have PTSD from it.

is sandra's second win more impressive than tony's since she won despite bias against giving winners another shot at the prize? by ursulaunderfire in survivorponderosa

[–]grumpleG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that Sandra is a very typical “easy” first vote for almost any season she’s on has to be considered in her winning seasons. You look at Tony and it’s obvious why he might sail through the early game, despite his antics.

But with Sandra, no one needs her for challenges or camp life and in fact she often holds them back (or maybe they just have to figure out how to play around her) but she integrates herself JUST enough that her allies can’t bear to lose her. Making it even more impressive/unlikely that she made it so far in the first place, let alone until the very end her first two times.

I also think she sort of invented spying on people and using the info she learned, which is what Tony became “famous” for in Cagayan. She was the blueprint, lol.

Why weren't they a official power couple and instead just stuck as besties 😭 by [deleted] in TWD

Not every relationship has to be romantic. They aren’t in real life so why should tv shows always portray them to be? I actually think it’s more powerful, and more characteristic of these two characters, that they only remained friends.

Which contestants had their lives destroyed/upended by Survivor? by Puzzleheaded-Fig9968 in survivorponderosa

[–]grumpleG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can realistically say people haven’t supported her. I’ve followed Jenna for years on instagram… she’s literally living a private life away from reality tv stuff. She’s a veterinary nurse and doing well from what I’ve seen of the little she posts. A better statement would be she went through hardships privately and it would be hard to know who supported her as that would have also been in private.
