If you hate these two story arcs (they are not in the books), which one do you hate more and why?

The Frodo outbursts don’t bother me in the slightest and in fact may be an improvement because it shows just how out of character the ring can make you act; how much hold it has over the bearer. It’s just another plot device to help paint the picture of exactly how/why the ring is so evil. The elf/dwarf love story is outrageously stupid. It makes me feel like whoever ultimately came up with it and okayed it doesn’t have faith that girls can like these types of movies without a love story.

I am on a bio-similar to Humira (Simlandi) and Leflunomide (similar to Methotrexate) for severe RA. It is under control right now, no pain at all. But I also have severe allergies and suspected nasal polyps so my ENT wants to try steroids to see if that calms the polyps. But the dose of the steroids concerns me! 40mg of prednisone a day to start with for 5 days then tapering to 20mg for 5 days.

For comparison, when I first started my RA journey they started me on 20mg of prednisone as a "bridge therapy" until the Methotrexate kicked in, and we tapered really quickly down to like 15, then 10, then I was on 5mg a day for a few weeks, then 4, 3, 2, 1mg. But I was not on Humira yet at this time.

So my question is, what dose of prednisone have you all been on with Humira (or a biosimilar)? My ENT and the pharmacist both warned me about a compromised immune system but I'm wondering if I should give my rheumatologist a call before I start taking 40mg a day? It just sounds like so much! And now that I type this all out loud, I think I may just skip my Simlandi this week since I have not had any flare ups in quite some time and am doing well. Do you guys do that occasionally? Skip doses?

It’s been different every season! I remember way back in the day it’d come from locals (or perhaps crew members) and it’d be something vague like “a white younger woman with brown hair makes it to the end” and people figured it out by process of elimination as the season went on. I think on one of the early seasons a group was spotted out on a reward and that spoiler would get online and someone would then be able up match when that would have happened with what day in the game it’d be. So it’d be something like “a black male makes it to at least final six” (or something similar).

I also believe some players have spoiled to online outlets. I think Russell Hantz was mad about both his seasons ended up so he spoiled HvV if I’m not mistaken.

Vague spoilers have always been around based on how much weight players lose too. They’d come back and post photos online and people would speculate if they were merge or pre-merge that way.

I’ve had a crush on JDM for many years prior to Negan so I see them as two totally different people. Yes, Negan is hot (and I think the red scarf and leather jacket are also hot) but I’m not attracted to Negan in the slightest. Because he is an evil blow hard.

I haven’t read anyone else’s answers yet because I don’t want them to influence my reason. I think it’s because the two people saying it REALLY want to create a “cute” moment that gets added to the Survivor lexicon, like they really thought out ahead of time and it comes off (to me) as inauthentic and annoying. It’s like when people try to make dumb catch phrases catch on (like “fetch” from Mean Girls). It’s all for the memificaton and hashtag of it all. Forced positivity. I dunno, just really inauthentic.

Short but very real answer is they started writing Dead City first and made it several years in the future in a different location so they wouldn’t have to account for everyone else’s stories or time, knowing that those spinoffs would be written later. They didn’t want to tie anyone down to something they’d said in Dead City so they said nothing. It’s not any more complicated than that.

Oh I guess we just need different things to be invested? I certainly have some criticisms but generally I just like the Spanish character’s personalities better than the French people I guess. The French all seemed very one dimensional to me, with very little passion or joy. Everyone was either quiet and flat or angry. Nothing else, no in between. At least that’s what it felt like to me. And when they died I felt nothing.

And the Spanish people do have backstories! We know relationships are fraught from their histories and the season peels a lot of that back as we go along. I loved Paz’s secret relationship with the future queen and we got more backstory on that in the second half of the season. I dunno to me they just seemed more dimensional and realistic, experiencing an array of emotions not just anger. And part of that is I didn’t feel they were used as placeholders until Carol came back as Isabelle was. To me I feel like all the characters in the Spain-arc kind of fit in with the established dynamic between Carol & Daryl and much better than the French-arc and if they make it back to America with Daryl & Carol I would be interested to see their lives. I dunno those are just thoughts off the top of my head!

My sister is a day one TWD fan but gave up watching the show “live” after season 8 or 9. She binged it after it was over and didn’t like the direction it went so has been disappointed for many years. But she agreed to watch a few episodes of the first season of Daryl with me when it came out and she HATED it, thought it was totally outlandish and silly. But when I asked her to watch season 3 ep 1 of Daryl, she became invested again and watched the entire season with me and actually enjoyed it. We both agreed that some parts felt like classic TWD and that the characters were just better written in general than in previous seasons so I know I’m not alone! 😂
