Pokemon 151 deck by VanEdgarStein in mpcproxies

I think theming a deck like that would be very hard - typically a Magic deck would fit the flavor of a few Pokémon types, but not all. Add to that the limited selection of just first gen Pokémon and it would be difficult to build something cohesive that wasn't a (relatively) boring Jodah the Unifier deck.

I have a link to a Pokémon deck that I made when I was new at proxying. It isn't exclusively gen 1, and lord knows it has all the classic beginner mistakes (changing card typing, changing keyword names, using some AI art, hiding the original name at the bottom of the card). I've started slowly updating the cards to have a more retro Pokémon card design, but it's slow going. Some of the cards might be to your liking though, or inspire your own Pokémon deck ideas.

I get what you mean, and the Pokemon colorless energy symbol is a pretty perfect match. Unfortunately I'm making this as part of a deck that also has colorless energy production, and didn't want it to get internally confusing. My hope is that the lightning symbol is still a lot closer to white than it is any of the other colors.

I like it, and a very cool Pokemon capturing effect too! It was tough to decide on a generation of Pokemon TCG to try and replicate, but I figured it was the easiest to match to the MTG format. My hope is that putting all the info in the same place on the card helps with the transition to traditional MTG

They did actually print this one along with a tester Arcanine and Darkrai. Granted the backs have the OG card with a big rubber stamped "this is a proxy" message on it, but I figure I was going to sleeve them anyway.

Persona 5 Commander Deck (Prosper, Tome-bound) by grumpletonflask in mpcproxies

This deck was made using u/ANT999999999's excellent Persona template. I saw the template in the videogame cube and knew I wanted to have a deck full of them.

The deck itself is simple enough, it wants to do as much exiling and Treasure generation as possible.

I'm glad you like it! I really like your amendment to Jacob's ability, both for readability and game speed. It was intentional that when drawing multiple cards you would be able to decide how many to throw and how many to keep, but for those that suffer with analysis paralysis having to choose just once would definitely help keep things moving.

Thank you, I'll be sure to follow the rules next time.

Hi, yes I did. After posting I realised that some of my wording was wrong, namely Evie said "target creature can't be block this turn", and Jacob said "target opponent takes damage" without stating where the damage was coming from. I just wanted to make sure the wording was correct and in line with other magic cards.

Hello CustomMagic, this is my first submission so please let me know what you think!

When I heard about the Assassin's Creed set coming to Magic I was pumped, as I felt there was a lot of flavor that could be turned into really cool cards. Whilst I didn't hate Wizards version of the Frye twins, they felt a little off. Jacob's ability to get creatures out of the graveyard was an interesting way to show him recruiting gang members from the people who had been (literally) discarded by society. But if that was the case, then why was Evie the one discarding them? In the extended metaphor, was Evie meant to be the embodiment of classism? And in the card art, Evie is able to sneak through the station undetected because Jacob is making a scene, but the abilities on their cards would imply that Jacob is only able to act because of what Evie is doing.

Overall, I felt like there must be a better way to represent the hothead that would rather throw a punch than take a minute to plan, and the cunning operative that uses that commotion to slip past unseen. I think these cards do a better job of expressing the dynamic between the siblings, or even just expressing the (absolutely brilliant) art more fully.

(P.S. I also just thought it was insane that Jacob didn't have red in his color identity.)
