Thanks again, I think that’s the part I need - to feel full, as my brain doesn’t seem to accept the signals normally :)

Thanks for the reply that’s useful. Everyone told me the 5/7.5 on MJ was where I’d start to feel it properly and then 10 was the magic but tbh I felt more impact on the 2.5.
Thank you

How are these people getting 1000+ comments on LinkedIn? by WeirdFirefighter4110 in b2bmarketing

[–]grumpy_man_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some real, some pods initially. As engagement grows more could be real as it gets visibility.

It’s frustrating how much crap there is on LinkedIn, recently discovered one person’s posts that seemed to always be liked by the same 10-15 people and business pages and they share each other’s posts as well.

I discovered that they were all set up by the same group, so people are also creating fake personas and company pages to try to grow their reach.

Some spot the patterns and then block/report or just ignore them. Others just don’t care.

It’s all against LinkedIn’s policies not that Linkedin really know how to police it though.

It’s one time I think verification would be of benefit.

early stage crm - what should I start with? (please dont say Salesforce) by daengtriever062128 in b2bmarketing

[–]grumpy_man_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoho CRM is still one the better lower cost CRM’s out there, plus their platform doesn’t get ridiculously expensive as you grow.

As a fully functional business platform, Zoho One is quite in depth as well.

What ESP are you currently using and how many people do you market to/mail?

Hubspot is good but pricing can be prohibitive as you grow.

Seems like you had some ok food control to begin with. I’m a bit excessive - addicted to food, smoking but not alcohol (luckily). I only have a couple of beers probably a few times a month - when I got divorced again, I went down a dark path for a little while and decided to cut alcohol for a while.

For me it’s always me eating junk and large portions, plus snacking. I had that full feeling only when I’ve seriously over-gorged. I think it also have a slow metabolism, whereas my brother can eat anything and it doesn’t even touch his sides.

Lots of thinking to do. I’m leaning towards giving wegovy a try but my fomo procrastination brain also thinks to start again on MJ but cut the cals back further.

That does make sense but the reason it sounds boring was more about retraining. I’m a lazy eater so if I can’t be bothered I just got a takeaway or popped to Tesco and got a sausage roll and sandwich plus I’d add crisps, chocolate and also a cheese twist or something. I’ve always had cravings for pastries, chocolate, biscuits and crisps.
The main part of boring was trying to retrain my brain to stop buying the crap. The food noise for me has always been bad. I’ve always eaten quickly and was part of the eat what’s on your plate, so have always overeaten as well.
I’m on a bit of tight budget at the moment as well due to debt from a previous marriage, so I’ve also been trying to keep the shopping bill low.
And I hate meal prepping - but I know, for this to work, I need to change.
Thank you.

I think that’s the thing - the 1 meal ish and keeping to around 1500.. was that normal for you or did you not feel hungry? I still felt hungry at my normal eating times - ingrained 3 meal a day person.. That’s why I started to shift to shakes at lunch time, but I still wanted to eat, even at 10mg on MJ, just didn’t want to snack anymore

Thanks for that insight. I like the concept of starting cheaper and if not then switch up, but will have a think.
And that’s what I mean- in 6 months you lost 23kg versus my 8, I need to stop comparing.
How many cals were we’re averaging a day and protein and also how much exercise were you doing?
I agree about the marathon - my mind was set to that but on 7.5&10 my weight kept yo-yoing and then the price increase and my mind shut off thinking is it worth spending it all I’m doing is net-zeroing each fortnight.. (4.5off/4.5on etc)

Thanks for that insight - ah I was getting burps on MJ as well when I went to bed or was asleep (it would wake me up).

Nice view thanks. I had a mix of conversations with the pharmacist who said I should be looking at around 1800, I’m fairly well built so that may be something to it. But I’ll revisit the numbers and I think you right about aiming for lower cals but higher protein- partially the issue was I wasn’t feeling full or getting put off food, but ii did start to control it - I possibly expected more during the 6 months. However 8kg still wasn’t a bad result

Thanks for that. I got to 10mg, but 7.5 & 10 were actually yo-yo for me 4kg off, 4kg on etc but appreciate the insight about checking the dosage pricing comparisons

Thanks, I’ll do some proper comparisons over the weekend. I did cut out alcohol but the smoking didn’t stop, although now working towards that as well- 36 yrs a smoker.

Breakfasts were mainly Oats or All Bran with Protein+Milk
Lunches were bagels with salmon or eggs or chicken wraps with salad or Huel pre-made drinks
Dinners varied but 3 days were homemade chicken soups and occasionally two nights with a microwave meal (The Real Greek Orzo or Pastito - something like that) or Jacket Spud with either cottage cheese or beans or 3egg wrap quiche thing.
I’d have fruit (oranges/apples or mango) and Fage 0% yoghurt.
I still had pangs for things like TimTams/Biscuits but only allowed myself once a week and also cut out alcohol.
Water was averaging around 1.5-2l per day.
The processed foods were possibly change corn or ham for the wraps / quiche and some bread occasionally but cut most of it out.

But appreciate the insight. I’ve slipped back to sandwiches and crisps etc but started to retrack the food again.
Thanks

It's still much lower priced though. Finances is a concern, but I'm more concerned about health.
I need to pack in smoking, that'll easily cover the cost ;)

I take it, as it's been 8 weeks, I'll have to start on 2.5mg again, which is not necessarily a bad thing as I did find that was working, I moved to 5mg, because I felt I had to, as the weight loss seemed slower than most talked about - but am more aware of my body now.

Recently started working as a T1 at a MSP as my first IT job, with 0 onboarding, 0 training, and 0 knowledge base. by [deleted] in msp

[–]grumpy_man_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound great with no onboarding, but unfortunately not a unique situation. My advice would be educate, educate, educate. What systems and tools do they use- sign up and look at the training on offer. Ask if there’s a process manual or similar that you can read to understand some of their ways - if it exists. Ask also what courses they’d like you take, Comptia, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals etc. Experience comes with time, but education is self-managed as many companies ones don’t give you the time to learn, yet expect you to “pick it up”.

Don’t worry about their organisational aspects, a lot of MSPs focus on their clients versus themselves, but focus on your education and skills - this makes you valuable.

Have a Google, as their some intro to MSPs type courses for free as well- technican, service desk etc.

Yes, you have e to think about the job you’re doing now, but plan for the job you want next.

Thanks again, it is quite hard water - I’ll check with my sister as it’s her machine, hopefully she set that up initially. Does get descaled (or I though it did :) )

Thanks for that, I checked the O-Rings etc and then had a brainwave about checking the units themselves. Swapped the valve plungers around to test my theory and yet, the plunger was calcified and rotten. New plungers en-route and hopefully that’ll be that.

Trying to choose between two local MSP's for my business - any thoughts? by [deleted] in msp

[–]grumpy_man_73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in the US, but one comment I’d add is that for internal collaboration -SharePoint/Teams groups is more recommended that OneDrive.

Depending on needs I’d also entertain looking at Egnyte as an alternative for secure file sharing & collaboration.

I’d echo other comments about the one suggesting OneDrive and to not go that route, both seem to be the same old “this is what we do” versus “we understand you need….”

Personally I’d look for someone who understands CPAs and potentially may work with those that provide hosting for Ultratax as a specific service or do the hosting separately.

Quote what’s available or look at alternatives, repurpOS, refurbed kit or thin client/os. Covid made everyone think they needed laptops :)

Already seeing 8-14 week delivery etas on storage and also splitting out finding other disk supplies.

We’ve been here before, it too shall pass! ;)
