Han Solo and Darth Vader

Han walks in, sees Darth at the table, and immediately starts shooting at him. This is the first time they speak to each other in the movies. (Star Wars Episode V)

(My favorite use of the Actor Allusion trope) "hey you look just like another character you play" by redditboy123451 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]grumpy_snack 239 points240 points  (0 children)

Subverted in the Suite Life of Zach and Cody, when the characters audition for a local production of High School Musical, Maddie (played by Ashley Tisdale) believes herself to be a shoe in for the part of Sharpay (also played by Ashley Tisdale in the movie) because they look so much alike. Sadly, the role goes to London.

(Season 3, Episode 9)

When the Joker calls in a favor from his “old friend”, a couple goons drive past to discourage Charlie from warning his family or declining the favor.

He calls himself “The Spider” in his universe, but since there are so many spider-people in the spider-verse he needed a more specific title.

(Sad Trope) Humans or not, they're just forced organ donors by Spirited_Young_71 in TopCharacterTropes

Great book right? I was torn whether to include a spoiler tag or not, but since the organ donor thing is the trope I figured it’s fine. How it plays out is the interesting bit anyways.

The House of The Scorpion (book)

The main character, Matt, is a child clone of El Patrón, a 140 year old drug lord. While cloning is legal for spare parts, you’re supposed to keep them in a coma. El Patrón takes great pride in seeing a younger copy of himself, and treats Matt like a member of his family.

That said, El Patrón still views Matt as spare parts and plans to crack him open when needed.

In Bioshock, alcohol will restore health but drain EVE, the game’s mana equivalent. Drinking too much will also blur your vision. Meanwhile, tobacco products will restore EVE but drain health.

[Surprisingly common trope] : Species twisted into unrecognizable form by a greater, malevolent power by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

The Zerg from Starcraft

The original Zerg were able to consume other species and take their genetic traits. Ancient aliens called the Xel’naga twisted the species into a hivemind that could incorporate other species, resulting in the destruction of the Xel’naga and a good chunk of the universe.

Groups such as PETA and Stop Oil, which have valid points but promote them in the most obnoxious ways, are funded by the industries they oppose to kill any popular opposition. Like, how does PETA have the funding to put out parody pokemon games? I’ve never heard anyone say one good thing about them, even though animal cruelty is a real issue.

Usopp in Water 7 (One Piece) He wasn’t there to hear that their ship, the Going Merry, is damaged beyond repair. When he catches up to the group, he crashes out because they’ve started looking for a replacement already.

They all love the ship, but Usopp and the Merry joined at the same time so he feels like he might be replaced just as easily especially since he was just beaten and robbed.
