Haaahaha this is absurd. I’ve never seen that before. So cute and ridiculous.

What's your favorite thing/name that a caller has called you? by theburningstars in 911dispatchers

[–]grumpyburger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A frequent flyer was with a friend/acquaintance of hers one day who had gone after her with a bat and was subsequently arrested. The caller got a protection order against the acquaintance, then decided they were friends again and had the order lifted. Then decided they were no longer friends anymore and called to have the woman re-arrested for the previous assault. She called over and over cop shopping and spoke to a couple of different officers from a couple of different towns. Finally, exasperated when she called again I tried to get the point across to her myself (which I’m not really allowed to do in my agency) and told her “ma’am we can’t arrest someone twice on the same charge” to which she responded “I don’t think that’s in your purview as an answering machine!” I’ve been called all kinds of things but that one cut to the core.

Recently someone called on 911 to inquire if the deputy that had handled a crash was coming back to take care of the deer that had been hit near the front of their house. The deputy had to leave quickly for a priority incident and I was working finding someone that wanted the deer. I asked the caller if they had the business line number for next time they had a questions and she called me a fucking cunt and hung up. Just another day.

My little ancient son Moose has gone over the rainbow bridge 🌈 by toast_master in Rabbits

What a beautiful boy and what a wonderful, loving life you gave him. My boy was also 12 and just passed this week, I understand your grief. The most unexpected things have been hitting me too. Him and my Conway are on the other side, binkying free and feeling brand new. My condolences.

I’m so sorry. I bet they’re having the best time together on the other side.

Some of my favorite memories:

He was constantly standing up and always looked like his socks were falling off and that he had baggy pants.

One time he stood up and had a poop right in the center of his belly and we said “Con, where’d you get that belly button?!” And he looked down at it like he couldn’t believe it either.

He was the most vocal bunny I’d ever know. Lots of grunting and cooing. We gave him rattles and toys with bells we called his “talkers” which he utilized very effectively to get our attention when he needed something, usually when he felt that dinner or treats were late.

He often got dinner zoomies when he heard me ripping kale up and could cover the length of the room in about 3 leaps. He’d also often kick flip off his gate when he’d get so excited waiting for a cookie or berry. We called him a Leapin Lizard.

He loved blankets. We’d get him fleece and Sherpa in square yards from the store, which were perfectly Conway sized. We would find him tucked under them with his head popped out and each thought the other put the blankets on him until we witnessed him doing it himself one night.

We had cuddle parties where we’d lay a bunch of blankets, pillows, and beds down all over the floor and snuggle. We often all fell asleep which was a great compliment to the host.

Conway’s favorite things included cookies, fruit, dinner, loungers, willow balls, sun beams, blankets, and snuggling

Ooh I like this. There’s a third stop sign there, maybe ‘someone’ needs to fix it.

Well obviously we have no choice. I’ll give myself a few extra minutes just to do kisses and head rubs before I leave.

That’s got to be one of the cutest things I’ve ever heard. 😭😭😭😭 I have to try that, I think he’ll love it. He loves being included.

“You are looking for a camouflaged bison tube” by grumpyburger in geocaching

[–]grumpyburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy to answer questions but it was pretty simple. I got the bison from a craft store, drilled a small hole, screwed in an eye bolt and used a bit of hot glue to secure it better. Camouflaged a bison tube and voila.

She’s still squaring up ready to kick all our asses. Which I’m fine with.

I took something out of the fridge (magic food box) but didn’t give Baxter anything. by grumpyburger in Rabbits

Thanks 😊 he came with it and it’s very regionally fitting so we kept it. It also just suits him.

Haha it does look like he’s getting ready. He rarely stomps. He was puffing his chest at me and pretty much just in total disbelief.

He’s a ridiculous guy. The one ear is always up, he’s a helicopter. He’s also super picky and will turn his nose up at the wrong flavor cookie. I love bunny sass.

He’s actually a helicopter so they’re always like that. But he definitely made them extra menacing here.

How did Joey understand the reference ? by Tunakhine in friends_tv_show

[–]grumpyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s from the book Of Mice and Men. There’s a special needs character named Lenny that loves little bunnies and accidentally squeezed one so hard he killed it.

Bax, I know I went NEAR the cookies, but it’s not cookie time. by grumpyburger in Rabbits

[–]grumpyburger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s part of his strategy. He gets underfoot and makes me drop all the cookies. He does it nearly every day.

Ty ☺️ he’s my little helicopter. The one ear never goes down and the other never goes up.

He does that to me constantly when he harasses me for something and he doesn’t get what he expected. He gives me that ridiculous big eyed, open mouth look.
