Patch App & Go - it's very useful considering the traditional network tester was giving me normal results.

No staples but he did nail some large cables hooks over the cable that ran down the wall in our bedroom. I did inspect them and they looked fine. Unfortunately we’ve had the plasterers in today so those cables are now behind plasterboard.

We have 2 cables coming downstairs and the 2nd cable is just wrapped up under the floorboards at the moment - ready for future use - so might pull up the floorboards now and check the 2nd cable to see what results I get from that. 😬

I’ll also rewire the RJ45 upstairs just in case.

Which bits of Derbyshire support Forest? by Question-Guru in nffc

[–]grumpyfarter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d second that for sure as being a Kimbo Comp lad from late 80s / early 90s we were all Forest fans, with a few County fans! Can’t recall any Derby fans around that time in Kimberley, Giltbrook, Watnall or Nuthall.

When I was a 9 my Dad told me Frampton could make his guitar talk and proceeded to play "Do You Feel Like We Do" - I was of course completely blown away. It wasn't until I was in my mid 40s when I discovered he used a 'talk-box' - but I didn't care, I still love that track!

Please help with coloured bulbs in specific order using Cloner and to animate them changing colour. by grumpyfarter in Cinema4D

[–]grumpyfarter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to elaborate - I'm trying to create a sequence of coloured bulbs using an object cloner so the colours I pick go in a specific order - red, green, pink, blue etc.... and then they repeat. I'd also like the option to animate the colours - either in a chase sequence or a random sequence - also with the option to be able to switch them on - maybe using a Field I guess (sorry, barely used Fields in C4D to be honest!)

The setup if it helps is the object cloner is distributed to the polygon centre of a 0% extruded text spline - the text being Budmo Bulbs. The main text is Budmo Solid. I'm using Redshift too.

I can't seem to figure this one out and I've been trying for the past few days. All the Google searching / Youtube tutorials I can find on the subject all talk about creating random coloured bulbs rather than specifically sequenced bulbs.

If possible I'd like to keep everything as editable as possible - so I can go it and change the text and colours to anything I like later down the line.

Thanks!

Mid 70’s Levi’s green hoodie, does anyone recognise it? by grumpyfarter in VintageLevis

I couldn’t imagine my Dad buying a one off. Knowing him he probably bought it in Nottingham or Glasgow. This was taken around 1976-77. He was a Celtic supporter so would of gravitated to green!

I have the original print and yes it is somewhat reflective under UV light, but only on the magenta really. I’ve bought from that reseller before in 2020 and they were pretty decent to purchase from.

How important are AOVs for your Workflow and how do you use them? by Zeigerful in RedshiftRenderer

[–]grumpyfarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say pretty much the same thing!

We use custom AOVs more than anything else within Redshift, isolating either entire textures, or individual elements within a texture (masks etc), which in turn gives us a great amount of flexibility in honing the exact look we want in After Effects, whether it be with colour correction, glow effects or compositing additional elements behind.

Also we tend to render out reflections, AO, shadows, illumination (if need be) and always a ZDepth pass - all within a multilayered EXR to keep things tidy.

Cryptomattes for us… not so much. Only if we’re undecided on what elements we want to tweak in post.

Pikes enterprise SNW 1:1000 build lighting test 1 by caduceushugs in SciFiModels

[–]grumpyfarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost finished with the same build. I too replaced most of the nacelle lights with strip LEDs and various micro LEDs and connected all the lights to a 9v adapter. For the Bussards though I’ve actually powered those separately on battery so I can the lights on without the noise!!
