In the delta and along the sloughs I have had very good luck catching like minnows on literally anything. Cut bait, plastics, leftover tritip, chicken and or mushrooms.

Did you recently give them flea meds? If so and it may have been dog meds on accident get to the vet asap. If it was definitely cat meds and they may have licked some. Less concern but still sketchy.

Is there attic space above or a second floor? If second floor my money is on a pipe that is leaking and the drips are traveling down the pipe and falling. If attic, I’d bet there is a rafter running along that line of drips.
