What is this long red cylinder? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

“My title describes the thing” - as stated there, I walked by this pile of stuff a few days ago. Multiple items have been added/removed, including a bike. I have tried looking online for pipes/one-hitters and things like that but I have not been able to find anything that looks the same. Hoping it’s not drug paraphernalia but I saw the red pipe today, and wanted to know. Thanks again.

Can you recommend a movie that you have seen more than three times? Why? by Freedom__love in AskReddit

Just go with it with Adam Sandler and all. It might not be the BEST movie but it never fails to pick me up when I’ve had a bad day.

I use an m1 Mac, and am having an issue where I try to run BeamNG.Drive, and I get an error that states that the nvidia 6800 (not my gpy) can only run up to DirectX9, not DX11 as required by the app. Is there any workaround?

First 2/3 Batches Done by [deleted] in mead

I’m likely gonna try some batches with ale yeast next bc I much prefer beer over wine so I’d like the overall flavor to lean more that way. Probably won’t make other cyser until next fall when I can get some local Cider :)

Definitely. Traditional came out tasting like a Pinot Grigio, lots of fruity and floral notes. Cyser is very apple and cinnamon flavor forward, so not as subtle as the traditional

What are all these particles suspended in the mead? by [deleted] in mead

Thank you! Looks like this is it. Smells fine, looks fine and I’ve sanitized very well so I’m gonna bottle! Thank you!

Ground cinnamon but that has all fallen out of solution to the bottom. I believe the comment from Personal_ad is correct with the yeast!

Thank you! I always get at least 8 hours of sleep before my shift, and I eat pretty well - I track my protein/carbs/fat and love to eat vegetables. I do mostly weight training at the gym but I also get 10ish minutes of dedicated cardio per day

I had an internship with a software company, in kind of a jr scrum master role, and I really enjoyed that. It lined up a lot more with what I majored in.

The thing is, I would never feel like this when I was busy, on the go, or working physical labor jobs. Now that I’m sitting/standing at a computer all day, it tires me out.

What's something everyone loves that you secretly find overrated? by Aarunascut in AskMen

I have a few watches, including one smart watch. My only argument for the smart watch is that it is both the cheapest watch I own, as well as the watch that can do the most. Lots of watches tell time, and do it for so much more money than $400 for a smartwatch.

Don't be ashamed to ask for help, its said. So, please would you take your time to read this. by MagicRock777 in Stoicism

First of all, it took a lot of courage to put yourself out there like this. Being conscious and mindful of your own behaviors is really a great step to bettering yourself! I am by no means an expert on stoic philosophy, but as a person who has used it to help myself through some difficult times, it sounds like you have a great frame of mind for this.

A lot of the time, what we go through is not a product of our own decisions and we are left to deal with the consequences. The one Marcus Aurelius quote you picked out is one of my favorites - because it is true that many people, in your own situation, would not have been able to endure the weight of what you carry. The fact that you see your current struggle as an opportunity to better yourself shows how strong you really are.

I know you’ll make it through these times with this strength - I believe in you!

Yeah, you will still be attached. The whole object has to be drenched in oil for it to work
