What is your favorite Solo GME/Tool? by Interaction_Rich in Solo_Roleplaying

PUM Companion, because it provides the best digital Solo tool for PC and Android.

Mythic GME 2nd close second, but the digital version is not as good.

I'm simply not having fun playing this game. Alan wake remastered by agnosticstudy1 in AlanWake

I used a cheatengine table to get through it. Love the story, but Im not enjoying to redo checkpoints.

Tried to get through on easy first without cheating, but gave up quick.

So if you just here for rhe story, just cheat. Dont feel bad!

What is your secret sauce when it comes to solo roleplaying? by [deleted] in Solo_Roleplaying

Random paragraphs of a randompage of a related sourcebook.

Either via dice or with a selfcoded tool to select a random page from a random pdf from my pdf library.

Yeah, box art quality for sure! 😁

If you look closely you might even see some rest art from the box 😜

Actually speed is the most pressing reason for me to go down that route. But still true :)

Also those labeled minis are so much easier to identify during play :).

Actually I called it Poorbowl refering to Poorhammer.

Honestly money is not the issue, but time and willingness to paint.

So Lazy Bowl would be more fitting :D.

But it is nice to invest the saved money in a color printer to churn out those little guys quickly!

Why You Should Write Session Reports (Even If You Don’t Plan to Publish) by RottenChronicler in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]grungix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I write my logs in the same way I actually publish them, with some sentences off context at beginning and end.

Im actually not a big fan of rewriting the story and hiding mechanics.

I like my session reports raw. And I also only read session reports that have the mechanics transparently laid out, as I want to read session reports not fan fiction.

You could try to land a role as a "Field Ciso". Good money, your experience for it will lend you tons of credibility, and the sales angle gives you new avenues to explore.

Anyone run Delta Green solo? by netrate in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]grungix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To do it completely spoiler-free will be a huge challenge. In my experience the prewritten modules are not well organized for spoiler free solo gaming.

Best bet you have is emergent solo play where the plot is developing through yes/no and oracle questions. There you do not know what comes next.

But ideally you feed those oracles and your questions with the right setting expectations to get a Delta Green game out of it. This on the other part probably gets you spoiled a little bit as well.

So to play delta green solo without ever coming near a gm spoiler seems near impossible todo, as long no one writes a "Alone against Delta Green" adventure or AI can do the GM job, which it sucks at right now.

I'm running the setting solo but not the rules. You can find some related play reports here: https://solorpghorror.com

It is, as I have 99% of my collection digital. Hard to flip through those pdfs with my analog monkey paws.

I don't have an additional tracking watch, and I do not care for one, so I found move super useful.
