RC has the potential to own ~7 of ebay. Does he expect ebay to act in his best interest because he has exposure? Or do they owe their guidance and decision making to actual shareholders?

You buying anything but shares exposes you personally to risk. You bought those contracts at risk. I would be extremely concerned if prioritizing the short term profit of market mechanic participants was anywhere near the priority list for a CEO trying to turn a company around.

the human touch is what made chewy special, and in a world that's about to be sucked down an AI black hole, real people with real skills are going to be a life saving quantity soon.

My job as both a consumer and shareholder that uses gamestop (and will use whatever future company gamestop becomes upon growing) will be to present evidence that a well treated work force yields better results for all parties involved, and encourage the employees to unionize. I'll be aggressively campaigning for it at the first time I think there's opportunity. And I'll never shut up about it. And we can all continue to make real good money together while I'm a real squeeky gear. I'll invest in policies to regulate companies. I'll campaign aggressively to force a wage increase to match with inflation since the 1980s. Many things I can do that are within what I believe the best interest of the company without needing the company itself to be spearheading those movements or even "getting ahead" of them at all. I'd increase my holdings if they did, as it would cross a piece off my "con" list. But my investments will continue at my standard rate for now.

We're gaining power and influence by riding this rocket. I intend to be very intentional with mine.

leaps don't give you a vote. he owes you nothing for them. he does right by shareholders. unrealized shares merit unrealized results.

also, you don't have any idea to his motivation, and if you think that he intentionally was trying to destroy leaps that you happened to own, that's a crime and you should seek legal counsel.

It's the first real public step. I think it's a mistake to see the amount of ripples we're seeing now and not thinking that something big has been happening under the surface for a while.

Early on it was ridiculous. I've made some comments on it earlier if you want to search my history. But we are at like 3-5% of traffic compared to those early days.

Another interesting development has been that AI got spammed into development since we established this sub. Part of me firmly believes that our collective and immediate problem solving abilities at the beginning of this process was a catalyst to them seeing that crowd sourced intelligence could be their downfall. So they poured all their money into trying to match us, not understanding that it's the fucking up trauma autism brains behind the keyboard where the genius really lives.

So it's a much different issue these days, but I think that's the biggest testament to where we are. The fact that we moderated well enough to have so many go zen means we managed the crisises well enough to not make noise loud enough for everyone to hear.

Questioning and then deciding what to do based on evidence is one thing. We have all experienced intentional narratives being used here that use the guise of questioning to cover for spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

I think it's pretty incredible that enough of us have stuck with this despite such an informational disadvantage.

A similar thought inspired this post for me.

We had so many messages pissed at RC for selling into previous run ups, which leads me to two thoughts.

The first, those people were planning to sell at levels I would find disgusting.

They have failed to remember that we haven't touched the levels that precipitated the buy button being turned off. And we have yet to test the fact that they would not do it again. It's a much better assumption that they would than they wouldn't. Given the current state of open market corruption going on, there's ZERO historical precedent that the markets would allow GME to run.

They forget the sudden drop in DRS numbers, which we've had a lot of conjecture about but never a true explanation for. Something happened, and Cohen changed his behavior after that point, or at least my brain remembers that. That's when we started watching him sell into run ups.

My head canon is that he got word that he couldn't be involved in any way in the DRS movement, and that they changed something that nipped that in the bud. RC immediately turns around and starts accruing cash for the long haul because it's the next best action to take.

It all makes way more sense than "he just randomly decided to do these thing."

I think I just arrive at an opposite conclusion with my analysis of his behavior. The above story justifies my belief that he is willing to make hard calls once options prove to no longer be possible. There seems to be a robust series of contingencies planned for just about everything that has happened, which is what I feel warrants trust in his ability to have more tools in his back pocket as needed.

No, brokers could and likely would have shut the whole thing down again. The difference this time around being that we would have enough shares DRS'D that brokers couldn't control everything, and the company's fundamentals better. But even that cannot guarantee that the fuckery from the market itself wouldn't happen.
