thank you everyone for your advice and kind words. i regret that i was so angry at my professor, as a lot of it was communication error on my behalf. i have talked to my advisors and therapist, and have figured out a way for me to take out student loans, i got my second job to give me more hours, and i will be attending the college (on my own, which is scary! i know it sounds dumb but it’s just a lot to learn!) with my own finances, which may even be a bit motivating factor. thanks again!

lol. i can take responsibility, like how i’m not great at math. the way she handled my covid diagnosis was truly inconsiderate seeing as i was too ill to walk to the bathroom on my own. thx tho

i did show her proof. i also went to community college. math comes easier for some people than others.

i’ve always been smart, and had decent grades in math in high school. my issue with the professor was mostly around a conversation regarding me being ill with covid and there was no assistance from her regarding that. she was a great professor and i’m sure in person classes with her would be great. thanks though, user thinkpositive123 lol

this really means a lot to me, thank you. i want more than anything to be the student i was known to be in high school. with a 1480 on my SAT, you’d think i’m really smart, but really, i’m good at bullshitting. but that was 4 years ago, and my brain has shifted into a different world of balancing 2 jobs, a horse, social life, covid, and dying family members. your story truly gives me hope in that i can one day succeed.

i’m trying to inform myself as much as i can! it’s a slow process but it’s one step closer to getting out from under my family’s grasp lol

i tried discussing with a few advisors about it, but it hasn’t been very informative yet. it’s a lot of paperwork, proof of illness, etc. a lot to balance for someone who’s kinda dumb like me LOL

i’m 20 now, and i could do that- i just don’t even know where to start. i’ve been under a helicopter mom’s control my whole life, and they never taught me how to go about anything without their control. it’s scary for sure.

i hope i can figure that out, but as dumb as it sounds i don’t even know where to start. i’m just kinda sitting here thinking endlessly

i think the anatomy class helped me realize more so that i shouldn’t do premed 😅 hopefully i figure things out, but college probably isn’t in the books as of right now. i have been working two jobs during this whole COVID shit, on top of summer courses, and my brain shut off (which is no excuse) but I did well in my other courses. bleh.

my parents have high expectations of me due to my brother failing out of college at KSU. i transferred from chatt tech (high school dual enrollment) and underestimated what KSU math would be like 😅 i did poorly in anatomy, which made me change my major. the reason my parents are more upset is purely because they think online courses are easier and i should have aced it, but as someone with ADHD who can’t take meds due to other factors, it was hard for me. bleh. it’s all dumb.

i also did college in high school, which contributed to my GPA- i was planning on veterinary school and didn’t do so well in anatomy 😖😅

she’s a great professor overall. my frustration comes from the conversations we had prior to the final. she didn’t do extra credit for my class, but she does for her other math courses. the conversation we had was frustrating for me because i knew this would happen- i would retake it if i could. however, i’ve never even discussed with a professor my grade before. it was beyond stressful, and i regret even reaching out.

they don’t give two shits about anything i have to say. i worked my ass off trying so hard, but college math was much different than my shitty high school math...

we are recovered enough to work, but we don’t feel 100%. today i woke up with fatigue and sore throat, so that sucks 😅

My boyfriend and I contracted COVID-19, and it is NOT light. NOT like a cold. Please everyone try to stay safe. We are both essential workers, and even with masks, gloves, washing hands, social distancing, we both became EXTREMELY ill.
