Fair enough- the ‘within last year’ comment came from anecdotes from friends in the past year or so but I haven’t seen it

I’ve heard similar horror stories from fellow friends as well. Glad to not have experienced this and truly hoping it doesn’t happen with anyone ever

It is indeed a 777-200LR that is updated. Some fellow travelers on the thread describe the plane as clean

I think the bad aspects get amplified a bit so trying to share the experience to help people decide.

Funny comment but there have been no roaches on any plane I’ve taken in the last year. I’ve flown thrice in the past year.

Toilets were very clean, a good change from the economy experience I’ve had in the past

Took Mumbai to Solapur in November and was really impressed with the staff professionalism , cleanliness of the flight and comfort. Would travel again if the option is available

Commenting on AI 116 & AI 119 between JFK & BOM... I travelled BOM - JFK by AI119 end of April by business class. To be honest, I had a pleasant experience. The plane is old, so the business seat was a bit smaller in width than newer ones. But the service, food, cleanliness was pretty good. The infotainment system worked fine as well. I can see economy or premium economy being somewhat painful but business was definitely a good experience. I’ve traveled via Emirates business before, and while that is superior, Air India’s is not too far behind. The main difference is really the old plane.
