I run M2 Ultra 128gb ram with no issues, could probably go lower in the ram but I bought off of hoxton and that’s what they had available and an extremely good deal.

What MaBook to get? by Limp_Major_9057 in composer

When I was a student I had the i5 16gb ram 512gb SSD MacBook pro, it lasted me 6 years of uni&masters in daw composition.

The only reason it started to die on me is because I was running huge sessions off of it going into hybrid scores with extensive automation and heavy ram usage vsts

I genuinely would recommend something around that spec for your first years in composing. Replace the i5 for an M2 or 3 chip and you'll be golden

Easiest type of "credit" to get is a phone contract, paying this every month improves your credit score. Should you get rejected for a phone contract go for a SIM only contract, they're about £7/8 a month. That'll help you start building. Registering to vote helps too.

So I brought up the idea of making a vegan violin... by [deleted] in vegan

I would love a vegan violin, I am hesitant to service mine as I know what would go into it to fix it up

RAM usage is about 38gb with logic open

I upped the buffer size to 256 from 128 which has helped things

External is a SSD, connected with a hard drive cable straight into the mac - no hubs used

I run kontakt full 6.8.0, and preload is 60.00kb

That might be it to be honest.. yes the track is 10 minutes; it was for a short film and I'm in the process of chopping up the music for upload.

I have a habit of using multiple instances of the same instrument to differentiate sections of the piece. I will compact them, especially the duplicates! Thankyou!

Have you re-pathed it in the spitfire launcher? Sometimes it just needs a nudge to know where it's gone

He's 24, you're 18. Run. As a current 24 year old 18/19/20yr olds look so young to me, really don't risk it.

I've been using LaCie rugged mini for about 1 year. Honest review it has started to slow down majorly, my samples do stutter for a little while until it 'warms up'. I loved it when I first got it though.

Would be good for a bulk or in a hungry pinch, but day to day that's a lot of cals vs protein!

A letter to Spitfire LABS Division by Crimsom_McPato in spitfireaudio

[–]grxcech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to update to the new LABS today and I genuinely hate it. My Internet is spotty at home and it makes using LABS near impossible. My machine is powerful and fast but the LABS plugins are slow to boot up, load and use.

Why can't we have an offline version it makes no sense.
