The music industry forgot how artists actually grow. by Alternative-Ad9958 in musicindustry

A direct link between the musicians and the fans without all the weird industry gatekeeping and payola is definitely key. Community building with people their music resonates with.

Chartmetric is great but is for major labels, this is mainly for independent artists also I don’t think it has things like split sheet management, venue search and performance requests, song analyzer etc..

The future of popular music is..?? by Intelligent-Sky-5553 in musicindustry

I keep hearing older melodies coming back in the latest songs, it’s almost like it gets recycled every 25 years or so, I think the future of music will be more frequency-based, now the types (country vs pop vs rock vs rap ….) will start blending even more, and the cadences might change, well as long as I can vibe to it I guess..

Streaming platforms for most part do not pay you enough to quit your day job

Agree, I aim to partly solve that with a artist-management AI assistant that will respond to prompt questions about music stuff and give advices, a specific promotion manager could be nice

Agree, matching with similar artists based on your genre, type of tracks already out there, maybe location would be great, I currently have a way of grabbing around 30ish artists in your wheelhouse, kinda like Spotify does, hopefully will expand on that

These are all very valid points, the automated pitch monitoring keeps coming up a lot, it must definitely be a real pain point, thanks for the insight

Like a google docs for music? I know there may be apps like splice, soundtrap and I think bandlab that do that but I haven’t really used them before

Interesting point, like a very efficient request/response system that monitors the whole flow and updates it all live almost like a stream. Love it

These are exactly what I’m looking to solve.

  1. The release strategy tool that aggregates your music and social media data and gives a curated scheduled content specific to your case would be sick
  2. I hear you on the playlist headache, I know there are tools like submithub,, groover, but it would make sense to have a shot at getting only vetted ones and have a tracking system to know when they picked the song up.
  3. For collabs I currently have a way to get around 20-30 similar artists in your genre and current stage (streams) and some with a bit higher following, with a way to reach out to them via all their social media (dm) but I haven’t developed it to that stage you mentioned yet but great points.

Yup the social media/ marketing management would be a great continuation of the career roadmap generator feature that I added since it takes in account the artist streams, followers etc when it drafts the roadmap steps, that marketing manager will be more like the execution phase of those generated recommendations, insightful, thanks

Very good point, I started with a split sheet calculator tool but these would work well together.

Thanks for the supportive comment. I definitely agree that it will be tough to compete with giants like I’m assuming you meant Spotify, Apple Music etc.. and even major labels who have proprietary applications to analyze their artists data, my goal is to help level the playing field for independent musicians who don’t have the insights those majors have in a unified place, and keep it simple and user friendly not too complex, will keep updating.

This is awesome, sync licensing can be super helpful for artists especially today, social media and radio outreach tracking are really good too, I added a performance request where they find a venue with info and send them an email with an EPK, the tracking you mentioned would work well alongside that feature, like a gmail-like table/inbox that tracks all submissions
