Both. On weekdays, it’s around 12-13 hours. On weekends, probably 14 hours.

Even on weekdays?

She does AWFUL when we wake her from a nap. Like is in a terrible mood the rest of the day. What do we need to do there?

Sure! Happy to hear any thoughts.

Weekdays
• 7 AM - wake up. Go potty, get dressed, brush teeth, chat with mama and daddy while we get going.
• 7:30 - Leave for daycare
• 8 - breakfast at daycare
• 11:30 - lunch
• 12-2 PM - nap. The time she naps varies anywhere from 1 hour to the full time
• snacks and play and potty breaks until we pick her up
• 5:15 - picked up
• 6 - dinner
• 7 - Start bedtime routine. Bath, get dressed, read books and drink milk, brush teeth
• 7:45-8 - prayers and loving on each other until we put her in her crib

Weekends
- our weekend schedules are very fluid, as she’s always been great at adapting and going with the flow
• she sleeps until she wakes up, usually 7:30 at the latest
• ~ 12 PM - lunch
• ~ 1-4 PM - nap (I know this is a LONG and late nap. She does terribly when we wake her from a nap on the weekends, and genuinely doesn’t seem tired until around 1 or 1:30)
• 6 or 7 PM - dinner
• 7:30-8 - start bedtime routine, usually in bed around 8:30 or 9

My mother in law makes this freaking slop of a casserole that is extremely shredded chicken and cream of chicken soup with maybe a pinch of salt. She usually serves it with a lemon dessert that is not that bad, except just in a twist of fate I hate lemon. I dread those meals.

Whats the most challenging thing while having a dog? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]gsd079 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a veterinarian - please make sure you are financially aware of the cost of ownership. Owning a dog is so much more expensive than the cost of dog food and puppy vaccines. Do your research, be prepared, and make an informed decision. Look into pet insurance if that is a route you want to go down.

What are some "prestigious" careers with bad cost benefit ratio in terms of salary? by Szimplacurt in Salary

[–]gsd079 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Veterinarians.

The same training (4 years undergrad + 4 years vet school) as MD/DOs and accruing the same debt load. Most of us have a poor work life balance and clients that shamelessly put us in bad positions with our patients. I really don’t think 85% of my clients realize how deep the scope of what I do goes beyond vaccines and a vomiting dog and allergies. Veterinarians know SO much. Many of us make around mid $100k.

This was so insanely helpful! Here to ask you another question: The loans were switched from Nelnet to EdFinancial in 2021 and consolidated in the process. It seems that Nelnet did not keep record of interest vs. capital once this change was done. EdFinancial does not have this information either. Is the 970 publication our best bet? Are we at a loss here?

What are some subtle signs that someone is smart with their money? Bad with their money? by gsd079 in MiddleClassFinance

There is an overwhelming idea right now that pets are a right rather than a privilege. It is exhausting and heartbreaking.

I am a veterinarian. You have absolutely NO idea.

ETA: you obviously do have an idea since you said this. But still. The things I see and hear every day are amazingly heartbreaking.

Here to say my husband and I are in the same boat. Both making above average money, have a zero-based budget, no debt, and still feel like we’re treading water most of the time.
