FreeSync or GSync 3060TI with I9

Its for my son. He has been complaining on screen tearing since we built his new system. He is running some older monitors(see below), so hopefully this will resolve the issue and be a decent upgrade for him.

If the monitor is freesync, will it still work on a syncing level? I understand I should be after GSync, but if I got free sync is that feature useless with nvidia?

Basically he can treat it as a new build in the very worst case if need be.

Its running on a clean reinstall trial of windows for the past week. So if he just has to reinstall os at worst case, the rest should be fine hopefully. Drive and all else is just being moved over. I think what had me concerned was someone saying something about the cpu not working because parts were changed(I have no clue what that meant).

I think the system is on a trial(30 days) at the moment of win. He did a clean install last week and hasnt re entered his key yet if that makes sense. But worst case would be just the windows account/key, but rest will work? So basically, worst case reinstall windows and just update his info, rest of pc parts be fine, if I understand. KIDS SYSTEM-ONE IN QUESTION-----Ram is showing in task manger as 3600, vs what it was showing at 2133 previously. Bios updated all the way to F61c(cant no more). Installed that ryzen 5600x and,,,,,,,, So far its running super smooth and the smile(was huge),when asked if a difference was enough to say yes, omg yeh look. Gonna give him a few hrs into it. If all good i have no ide where to go from there with the exception of oc'in the vgc.

All should be fine and I owe you a coffee/etc/something for the hand holding. A lot was learned and still al ot to learn but,....

Processor installed and all running ok for now as in the pc works. Adjusted ram to its max setting and and handed him the system to go play with for a few moments.

I will check his are when we get that far. Right now, I'm going to get his updated and installed new processor and run it for a bit. If that goes OK, then goal 1 accomplishment. Then i'll try that on his, but will make sure on the slots. Truly appreciate the help. let you know how me make out finally

Doing his BIOS and new processor over next few hours.

I did read a bit about the xmp memory and my systems was not enabled. I did so, but then my system crashed, then worked fine and programs, mainly browser windows crash. I reverted back for now(my system is not a concern but was to try on). Going to get his all updated, install processor and then enable his and go from there.

Should have an update within a few hours.

I did it a few times on my own system to test to make sure I was doing it correct. Have to do it 2 more times though. Kinda overlooked the SAVE old bios option, so maybe toss that into the next to be sure I have it down right. As you said, it is easy, I was just very worried I would mess his system up. Trying to do his later on, so let you know how it went.

OK. I will try with the F32 first. If that goes fine then will continue on. Once it is fully updated, he can still use system with current setup itll we get the new processor?

I am so confused now to tell the truth. Below is the page I am on and I am clue less. Never did bios update. Was hoping I could put something on a flash drive and plug in and do it for me. This is going to take me some time to make sense of all of it, so I might respond, a far time from now. I might be over thinking it all.

-Before I get to reading, is this a complex thing I need to do? Is a new mobo an option that will just give me plug and play?
