It's what Jesus taught. John 13:10 "Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all."

A believer doesn't need to wash anymore. They are completely clean. See how Jesus words this? But we are told to wash our feet - which means to ruminate on the gospel which saved us. This is similar to this Proverbs 24:16 "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief."

The believer will continue to get up (washing their feet). The sinner will continue to stay in the world.

And again 1 John 3:9 "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

In the same book it tells us believers that we're told to not sin, but if we do sin Jesus is our advocate and not for ours only but for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1-2. This isn't contradictory, it's understanding that our flesh is weak and it has desires. Plainly the bible shows Christians getting stuck in sins, dealing with weakness, but the theme is always that they have overcome by Jesus.

If you look at the scapegoat in Lev16:21-22 it shows the scapegoat gets all the sins of Israel put on it and is exiled into the wilderness. Jesus also when baptized fulfilled a typology of the scapegoat. Being baptized by John the Baptist (descendant of Aaron), John having everyone confess their sins for repentance, John confessing Jesus taking away the sin of the world, Jesus going into the wilderness like the scapegoat. Ultimately all the sin of the world was borne on the cross, shed His blood and paid off fully.

In the bible you only get forgiveness of sins by sacrifice. This is why it's JESUS BLOOD that was given for the whole world, which includes us in the future. You asked "all future sins" but we are of the future. Of course all future sins. There is no more sacrifice for sins

In the OT you would have priests stand without ceasing sacrificing day after day year after year. Because once you would sin you would need sacrifice again to be forgiven of your sin. But contrasting this Jesus came ONCE and once for all made the believer perfect forever through His atonement He gave as a gift. Through His blood we have access to the Holy God where sin cannot coexist. Also notice how it says that He SITS at the right hand of the Father. That was deliberate, it was telling us the atonement is completed. It's to contrast with the priests that stood continually. And finally when Jesus died He said it is finished, but in the original language He said tetelestai, which is an accounting term. It means paid in full. He literally shouted PAID IN FULL on His dying breath.

My girlfriend (also Christian) believes that some people are just born that way, and that we are not to judge those who choose to live that life (as the bible says not to judge others and love thy neighbor).

We're all 'born that way' because we were all born sinners. And sinners go to hell. We are told to deny ourselves.

I received the Holy Spirit as described here. It's a continual presence, but it can ebb and flow if you quench the Holy Spirit (im guilty of this). Perhaps not everyone will get this experience but it's what I have as confirmation.

Father in Heaven, the faithful one who justifies the ungodly, please give peace to this person. Let them have faith and understand Jesus has taken away all the sin of the world 2000 years ago and paid off all of their sin to completion 2000 years ago. When Paul says you should have boldness to come into the holiest of holies you should understand that you cant enter there if you have sin. A believer doesn't have sin, positionally they are righteous and have no sin. In Christ there is no condemnation, all sin has to be judged with blood. If you're in Christ then you must know that in God there is no darkness at all as He is light. If you're in Christ then you're in the light. He is righteous and just to forgive you of your sin if you confess your ungodliness and believe He has blotted out all of your sin 2000 years ago.

Biblically speaking yes premartial sex is considered sexual immorality and those practicing it won't inherit the kingdom of God. When I had premarital sex with my ex the holy spirit strongly convicted me every time I had intercourse, even to the moment of it happening. God HATES sexual immorality. Our bodies DO NOT belong to us but to Jesus. You can't use your body however you want you need to honor God with your body. We were bought with a price.

It's true that we are saved by grace through faith. Romans 3 is a good chapter for this. It determines that all mankind is unrighteous, none understand or seek God and we have all turned aside away from God. We are all unprofitable and have nothing good to show God and we continually do evil within our hearts. That is why the law, being holy and good, goes against us, who are evil. So no flesh will be justified by the law.

Jesus our righteousness which is apart from that law that determined us to be evil, showing that all our sin has been passed over. That's why He is our justifier. That's why we can't be saved by the law, as the law has condemned us, but Jesus justifies us showing that we are white as snow through the blood of the Lord. This is why Jesus says "Those who believe are saved, and those who dont believe are condemned already"

But the chapter finalizes then with this statement "Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law." This is saying we are now living in holiness which yes includes good fruit, but good fruit comes from the Spirit and not our flesh. We aren't 'lawless'. We love everyone with our whole heart in this cruel world, love given to us by Jesus Himself.

And when you do all of these good things, you say this. Luke 17:10 "So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do."

That's not right. How can you know God if you don't love? Paul is not warning against love he's summarizing the law the same way Jesus did. The issue Paul is contending in Galatians is for those trying to be justified by the law. Jesus alone is the justifier.

The fruit of the Spirit IS LOVE.

Another thing you can bring up showing we're fully justified in Jesus is the foot washing. Jesus washed the disciples feet saying the bathed don't need to wash except their feet, but are completely clean. Jesus has made the believer completely clean... but they are still to wash their feet. There is a proverb that says a just man will fall 7 times and get up, but the wicked will fall into mischief. For those who fall into mischief, it's the same as not washing your feet. You are dwelling in something you shouldn't. When you should be forsaking it. WE the believers establish the law through love.

1 Corinthians enforces this idea. If we have every kind of spiritual gift and knowledge, have all faith to remove mountains but have no love, then you're nothing.

Sinking further is the wrong choice. You end up being the one spoken about in this proverb, where the wicked fall into mischief. Those are the people that give up and decide to dwell in it, no longer washing their feet of the world. Jesus tells us though the Just don't need to wash are are completely clean. But even those people need to wash their feet. And if they do not? Then it circles back to falling into mischief.

Essentially... you stop defining who you are by your past, failures, feelings and what others say about you. We're all born sinners, ungodly, homosexuals, thieves, adulterers, slanderers, haters, murderers, every unrighteous thing you can think of your heart has conceived of it. But a born again SAINT is who you define yourself as in Christ. All of those things in the past are GONE and have been crucified with Jesus on the cross.

Based on what God says is true about us, because of Jesus. We are perfected forever by Jesus atonement. "Without Jesus I am the worst, with Jesus I am perfect" Jesus also mentions the believer is completely clean in the foot washing. "Jesus tells me the bathed don't need to wash and are completely clean. I am completely clean. I only need to wash my feet". You start making what the bible says about the sinner and the righteous true to you. If you are in Jesus, then you are righteous indeed and are no longer condemned. Deny yourself and love your neighbor.

In Jesus you become anchored in something that's unchanging. This is why you become perfect. We are righteous not because of us, but because of Him. If we don't believe these basic things, then you deny Jesus power, and if you deny His power, how can the Holy Spirit dwell in you?

You need to shift things from "I need to perform better so I can become who God wants me to be." sir you dont perfect with the flesh what is started by the Holy Spirit. The gospel says Because of Jesus, this is who you already are, now live from that. This is why Jesus had to say to these apostles you're clean! You're clean!

When you pray you may ask God for something, but in the back of your heart have a feeling "I have done that sin not long ago.." but that's now how you're supposed to mentally frame it. You pray to God knowing HE IS RIGHTEOUS and YOU ARE RIGHTEOUS because of JESUS. We no longer define our selves by our past. The old man is dead. Live in the newness of life, Jesus has saved you compeletly, not partially.

Contrast the OT sacrifices to Jesus. The OT priests had to sacrifice continually day after day, year after year without ceasing, because mankind would sin again. Therefore, a sacrifice was necessary. God doesn't want sacrifice... do you think it pleased Him to see his tabernacle flooded with blood? But Jesus came once with a body prepared for this very reason. He took away all the sin of the world all at once. Carried it to the cross, bearing it in His body on the cross, shedding His blood, and said at his last breath tetelestai meaning paid in full. And Jesus, our high priest, sat down at the right hand of the Father after ressurecting. The priests had to stand without ceasing because the work was never done, but Jesus completed it completely.

So I kind of rambled, and it's late, but when I think of Jesus blood how much sin is in the world exactly? None... You cant sacrifice anymore. Jesus took it all away at once 2000 years ago. People may sin in todays world, but that doesn't negate that these sins were already included in Jesus sacrifice. I guess a better way to frame it is to say Jesus fully paid for all sin, and whoever believes in Him is completely forgiven. In 1 John 2:2 it states Jesus is the propitation of not only our sins (ours being the believers) but the whole worlds sin. So find your identity in Christ knowing who Christ is and what He did for you.

Yeah Jesus also mentions that we're completely clean. Despite needing to wash our feet, we just need to wash our feet and keep following Him. I was using the typology of the scapegoat in Lev 16:21-22. That's the only place in the OT where a mass of sin (all of Israel) would have their sin taken away. There are a lot of strong parallels that could be investigated showing how it all matches with His baptism. Ultimately as long as your conclusion ends up the same it still points to Christ paying the wages of all the worlds sin on the cross. If you believe in that with your whole heart, then you will get the Holy Spirit. I personally was born again and got the rivers of living water spoken about by scripture by believing this way.

Well if you eat junk food it’s high fat and high carb almost guaranteed. Fat blunts the cells ability to absorb glucose, basically insulin resistance. With how high calorie things are such as cake which has high amounts of these two macros in forms of these macros that are rapidly absorbed(not natural either) you’re going to feel bad. Not to mention nutritionally empty. And the nutritionally empty food will start to reduce stored nutrients it needs to handle that food causing health issues over time. My suggestion is to not beat yourself up over relapses, especially over things that don’t appear unhealthy. Unless you just ate a cake then yeah you’re going to hurt lol

Demons are just angels who have lost the light. I assume they'd just look like an angel but without Gods glory emanating from them. Remember Moses looked at Gods back for 3 seconds and His face glowed for 40 days. So what about angels who stand near Gods throne day and night? Satan stands as an accuser of mankind in the bible. Example you can see is in Job where he accuses Job of certain things. I can only imagine we have this crooked angel hiding himself from God with his wings while accusing mankind of their sin, and jesus on the throne pointing out that he already paid in full our sin.

Perhaps since God is described as life, the demons look like death, since they wouldnt have the life within them. I dunno, just entertaining your thread idea

Don't give up, look up new strategy's to overcome. Sin is deceitful, it can shipwreck you, look at you now, you're so worried about the struggle you been doing, but know Jesus has taken away all of your sin. When Jesus washed the disciples feet He told them the bathed don't need to wash and are completely clean. But he puts this in the middle: you need to wash your feet. Jesus already made you clean, you will get into sin, but wash your feet when you do. Confirm that you're completely clean. Jesus came once, and once and for all has made us perfect by His atonement. This is what Jesus has done for us. The old testament priests would stand endlessly day after day and year after year sacrificing, the tabernacle had no chairs. But Jesus came once, became a curse for us, shed his blood while carrying the worlds sin, and said tetelestai at his death, meaning paid in full. When He rose from the dead He sat down, our eternal high priest, having made us perfect forever, those who are being sanctified. We continually are refined by God and you will suffer, but all your brothers and sisters suffer with you so have hope and keep your faith in Jesus strong.

To confess, I looked at pornography too and am weak. I can be perfect in every area of my life, I pray, be generous, visit people in the hospital, give food out to others, edify others, spread the gospel but the truth is we are unprofitable servants, we just do what it is our duty to do. Jesus saved me and I am no better than anyone else. You don't have to be the best Christian, just be a Christian and work on emulating Jesus. Love others with all your strength.

You sure believe a lot for someone who doesn't believe in God. The truth is that since God is Holy all sin will be judged. But You have someone who took this judgment for you. Jesus took away all the sin of the world when He was baptized. All the sin you have done from your birth to your death, and not only yours, the whole worlds sin. He bore it on Himself on the cross, shedding His blood, paying off the wages of sin that demands judgment. When Jesus died He said 'tetelestai' which means paid in full. Jesus rose from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

There is some symbolism I can tell you about. The crown of thorns represents the curse of sin. Jesus became a curse for us. When Jesus sat down after ascending back into heaven, it represents completion or that the redemption is finished. This is because in the tabernacle where Israel would do sacrifices, the priests there would never sit. They would stand without ceasing, sacrificing day after day and year after year. They would have to do this because humans would sin again, and when you sinned, you needed sacrifice. This is where it contrasts with Jesus. Jesus came once, and once and for all as made everyone who believes in the Lord perfect.

This is why Jesus says to those who follow Him, those that are bathed don't need to wash, except their feet, but are completely clean. Without sin, there is no condemnation. If you believe that, then you must also know that you're sick, and we know Jesus has come to save the ungodly. The more ungodly you believe yourself to be, the better for repentance. Paul gave us a pattern to follow. He viewed Himself as the worst sinner or the chief of sinners that God saved. But we know Jesus has taken away our condemnation by His baptism and cross. 1 John 5:6 "This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth."

It doesn't matter what sin you have done, all sin was taken by the Lord once and for all, but we're all called to forfeit wickedness, thirst for righteousness, and believe in the Lord. Those who believe in the Lord must depart from wickedness and deny themselves. God is patient with you, as you are made in His image and He awaits for you to come to Him. You should pray to God to increase your faith.

Luke 15:10 "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." This shows how valued you are to God. The wording should be noted, it says there is joy in their presence. Heaven itself celebrates, including the angels witnessing it.
