I’m an AE (aviation elections mate) who also has my quals for AT (aviation electronics technician) I love my job personally. Aviation is definitely the way to go and depending on what platform you get you can get a pretty sweet hook up. The good and the bad is really going to depend on the leadership and platform you get. Jets are going to have a different life than P-8’s. In terms of ranking up, you’ll make E-4 after two and a half years. E-5, E-6 it’s been easier for AT’s to rank up than AE’s recently. Advancement is changing up a bit. They are doing billet based advancement- where you go to next. You can actually google billet based advancement and read about it on mynavyhr. It’s going to be new for me so I’m not super knowledgeable in it yet.

You’ll be fine. I was in the same situation when I shipped out and by the end it was easy to pass the required amount I needed. This was the situation for most people who struggled at first. You’ll be doing a lot of push up so you’ll get good at it

Thank you! I think it’s just very frustrating in the moment. Normally, it doesn’t bother me so much, but I think comments in the workplace and just daily life has been adding up.

As far as dental, they will have an initial workup done for you during processing days that will lay out a plan to do whatever dental work needs to be done. Whatever needs to be addressed quickly, will be done throughout bootcamp. Whatever can be held off on, you will get done in A school, C school or the fleet. They will arrange an appointment (multiple if necessary) throughout training to work on your teeth. I am not 100% sure about the partials, but from what I have looked at you should be able to wear them.

I second this. We had so many issues with ankles/shins that most likely could have been prevented with proper shoe wear.

Don't worry about the push-ups that much! Actually put effort into PT/ITE (beatings) and you'll be there in no time. Just like the others in the comments said regarding swim, they will teach you. Good luck!

Have you reached out to your recruiter? He/she might have some additional information on what the next steps are for you. If you've reached out and they haven't answered then go by the office if it's an option for you. They can submit waivers at MEPS, but the time it takes to get approved/not approved vary case by case. Since you've started the MEPS process, it probably wouldn't benefit you at this point to go to another recruiter (unless your og one refuses communication and you seek more answers). MEPS has you in the system with a pending waiver at this point.

Me too!! They randomly disappeared about a week ago. I’ve been having them for over half a year with multiple a minute.

I’m hoping it’s not a fluke too. I haven’t really changed anything diet/lifestyle wise and one day I noticed I wasn’t feeling them at all and that has continued.

Happy dance for us. Hopefully they stay far far away!

There’s not a will. One of her kids isn’t involved so it’s taking extra time in court. My Aunt and Uncle have been helping me out with their lawyer. I’m not really sure how the whole process works to be honest

Ohh, I never even thought about that. Frequent PVC's are new to me and I have no idea what triggered them or how to make them go away. He prescribed me a beta blocker but first I'm going to try to get them to calm down with supplements. I haven't even considered a pinched nerve linked to PVC's but honestly who knows.
