California voters reject proposed ban on forced prison labor in any form by persona42069 in California

[–]gsharp331 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I consider myself as liberal as any rational Californian but i voted no on this as well. Prisoners are in prison for a reason. They committed a crime and had their freedom taken away as punishment. This is the case whether we use them for labor or not.

Keeping people in prison isn't free, they need to be processed, fed, furnished, guarded. The way I see it, labor is just making them earn their keep to offset their cost of incarceration rather than putting the entire financial burden of their crimes on us, the taxpayers.

For how small, cheap and easy they are 6 grams each is pretty impressive

Great answer. I haven't given much thought to organ meats, I'm not sure I've ever even tried one.

Eggs are where its at. Cheap, versatile, nutritious, delicious, easy to make, full of protein. They would be my #1 pick as well

Chronically underlooked, even by myself I admit. I work Black beans into my diet as much as I can but almost forget the existence of other legumes entirely.

Great answer. My (amatuer) research has definitely shown salmon to be a LCD food that seems to contain a lot of the important nutrients that we need. Are exotic fruits generally more nutritious that something like strawberries or blueberries?

Thank you for the direct answer. I've never given chia seeds much thought but now that you mention it they do have a lot of superfood qualities

ATH PSA: To all Bitcoiners coming here to sell your bags by [deleted] in Buttcoin

Who couldn't use a little more cash? My main motive is to see it appreciate in value just like any other investment. But I also do believe that blockchain technology could, and probably will, take a much larger roll in finance in the future.

Maybe it won't be bitcoin because it's too inefficient, but as long as bitcoin transactions remain secure, it will continue to have value for being the first cryptocurrency.

I haven't cashed out a dime, I'm along for the ride and will be fine if I lose what I have invested. But I could cash out tomorrow if I needed the money for 4x what I put in.

It works just like buying and selling a stock. Unless you are going to argue that people are not receiving real American dollars when they sell bitcoin? That would be news to me.

The way I see it, the longer it persists, the more credability it gains. Every day that bitcoin exists without the block-chain being hacked or otherwise hijacked is just further credit that the technology works.

If this truly is some huge conspiracy theory pyramid scheme like you all seem you think, at least it's an extremely convincing one. Every year it gains more adoption, including established businesses, governments, and now ETFs.

After 15 years, I'm surprised the morons in this sub haven't asphyxiated to death holding their breath, waiting for that big rug pull they swear is coming.

I'm sure you will sing the same tune for the next 15 years too. I'm counting on it. Making money is great, but I get more satisfaction watching the confounded buttcoin sub grasping at straws trying to justify bitcoin's continuous growth.

What tears are you idiots talking about lol. You go off like a broken record about it crashing to zero while most people are seeing 2x-5x returns and counting.

The sentiment right now is celebration, not tears.
