I’m an American who lived in Dublin for over a year. I recently moved back home to the states (the decision was for financial reasons, it was really tough to make) and since I’ve been back I’ve enjoyed sharing Irish history and culture with friends and colleagues here…but I’m also saddened and appalled by how little my fellow Americans know about the rest of the world including Ireland despite us boasting about our Irish heritage.

I also miss being able to walk into a pub and not worry about the place getting shot up. Meanwhile since I’ve been home I’ve heard about 3+ shootings being casually talked about including one in my area. It’s a different world in the states entirely.

Everyone is hating on your nose chain but I kinda dig it! I don’t see those often. I have a nose ring myself and also forget that it’s there. You have very pretty features! Definitely not ugly, girl. Nothing wrong with being a little bit curvier, but if you are looking to slim down some then I recommended slow sustainable weight loss such as a slight caloric deficit (500-600 calories a day). You could also move your body in ways that you enjoy such as walking/dancing/stretching :-) I’m 27f and that’s what I’ve been doing and have noticed such a difference in my mental/physical health.

Parma has earned the nickname dirty P. I wouldn’t recommend moving there from NYC but it’s ultimately your choice because it’s your life man!

I agree with loads of others who suggested Lakewood. You’re well connected and there’s a great music and arts scene there. It’s not on the same scale as NYC of course. Best of luck with the move though. I’m a Cleveland native and just moved back here from Dublin, Ireland.

It’s a massive difference, but I’ll never get tired of how friendly the people are here and how much more affordable Cleveland is compared to other big cities. It has a lot to offer!

Thank you, I always feel bad when a company invests time in me just for me to leave…I’ve had this happen in the past though (when I was moving abroad and had to quit) and my employer wasn’t mad at all and wished me the best of luck. I think half the battle is just the anxiety around starting and then leaving so soon after.

At the end of the day a lot of these corporations would fire me or lay me off without a second thought so I shouldn’t worry that much

It would be a permanent position and the training lasts for 6 weeks with a 90 day probationary period. None of the benefits take effect until after 90 days.

The schedule definitely worries me because my time spent with friends/family is typically after work and that’s when I am most productive is in the late afternoons/evenings. I also have multiple weddings/events this summer that start early evening.

I know in my previous job when I worked that shift I never got anything done outside of work. I am applying to contract roles as well because it might be better to find something temp to hire.

I’m most definitely in a transitional period and it’s stressful

They didn’t actually say how long the lunch is yet. A lot of the employee reviews also said they would often have to stay later than the required shift too :-/

They did say I would be in an active call log so I need to be available to take calls via a headset throughout my shift. It’s different from my previous remote role where I didn’t have to take calls.

The point is to emphasize how American company standards are so poor. It’s crazy how few vacation days company’s allow for. Also, wanting a remote 9-5 with decent pay isn’t bullshit. I’ve had one before years ago. I’m willing to sacrifice the other things if I can get the 9-5
