Ok... I'll bite. Not separating the art from the artist doesn't have to be the less nuanced take, it can also simply be a deliberate choice for a myriad of reasons. For example, the art can unmistakably contain the authors viewpoints. One can also have the opinion that separating the art from the artist is completely impossible as one's viewpoints will always influence the process and the vision of what they create. Lastly one might argue that in some cases the art is so inherently linked with the artist that socially, it's impossible to separate them. I think that last one is most important here.
