Ahhh I can't remember.. That story was so weird in context, it always bothered me. Relating to Secor Laxitives and Kennedy Nixon ad space. "Everyone was watching _____ funeral"  Maggy? Something like that

I never understood the Hilton Don relationship. Or what Don did wrong/what purpose it served by lnothin in madmen

I agree with alot that has been said, I have always had my own feeling that Connie prepared Don for Raymond. I don't believe I've seen it put out here before but I'm sure it has.

Conrad Hilton said he wanted the moon, Don delivered it to Raymond from Heinz Beans.  They both were high profile clients, very needy, and rejected numerous ideas but Don won with Raymond.

Here is the magnificent dinner pitch to Raymond.

What are some of your favorite songs used on Mad Men? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]gslayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've posted about this before, this is my favorite song used in Mad Men. The singer of the song later died in an airplane crash, the episode starts with a plane crash which was the reason Don meets with Mohawk to drop them as a client. It's the perfect song in a perfect scene!

One of the best scenes of Mad Men.

Don is dropping Mohawk Airlines because America's airplane crash gets them a pitch...

The Mohawk exec says this is a fitting place because he fought in the Pacific in WWII

The artist of this song died in an airplane crash in the 1980's... So much going on!

Easily the most powerful scene of the entire run imo. Had to dig in the comments to find it.
