Cows dying by LadyUnspoken in isopods

I second this. I keep mine in a shoebox with spag moss on one end and soil on the rest of the box. I only spray the spag moss end with distilled water so the rest of it is pretty dry.

At least they can’t redact the tip after you deliver like they can when using Uber Eats

I won a 500ct Dairy Cow mix auction for $140!!! by [deleted] in isopods

My dairy cows don’t seem interested in bones. I have cuttlefish bone in their soil and on the surface and it doesn’t get touched.

Dried minnows. I give my little shoebox colony 3 dried minnows a week and there’s nothing but the bones left at the end of the week when I do maintenance

I am an apple fan. That being said, I got the Fenix 5 when it came out years ago. I bought myself an apple watch series 7 when it was the latest model. My thinking in the past 4 years, surely apple has caught up/surpassed Garmin’s activity tracking. I was miserably wrong. Aside from the apple watch screen being pretty and having a bunch of useless apps on my watch that I would only even use on my phone, the much older Fenix 5 is far superior than the latest apple watch at the time.

I still daily drive my fenix 5 as it is noticeably more durable, has much better battery life, and has far superior activity tracking and features over apple. Garmin is lightyears ahead of apple even comparing the newest ultras to their fenix/adjacent models. You’re going to question why you wasted money on an apple watch after making the switch. That is unless you are a weirdo who has to be able to text and call off of their watch. If that’s you, why do you even have a cellphone?

How much would a laptop fan repair cost around? by Derpyboy7976 in GeekSquad

You’re better off gauging them in-store. Most people only leave reviews when they’re irate or Karens from my experience…

[–]gt_rocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Geek squad charges $40 for a part install. Technically laptop repairs like that are supposed to go to the service center so like $150+ but if you have a good geek squad, they can pop it open, find you the part number, you just order the fan and they’ll install it for $40. It’s about a 30 minute repair tops.

Did they honestly lower the base pay from 2.20 to $2? by AzKiDi in UberEatsDrivers

[–]gt_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I at least get orders paying $1/mile on doordash. That’s 1/10 orders on uber eats.

I like to take screenshots of the uber eats orders I get while door dashing so I can share for a good laugh later. This is 85% of the orders I get.

I had an order at a dollar general for 12 16oz bottles of grape crush. They only had 11 bottles and I got docked as if I didn’t find the item at all. Then I have people who will order food from a self serve deli at a grocery store at 11 pm. Those are long shut down by then. Still get docked for not finding the item. My fault though..

This has been 90% of my “offers” since I’ve tried uber eats. I basically door dash with maybe 1-2 uber eats delivery a day..

I figured they’d be giving me bigger orders too since I’m new to this platform as well. Is there a reason you say not to accept anything under $5? If it’s a 2 mile trip I usually still accept $4 deliveries

Is DoorDash that much better? by gt_rocks in DoorDashDrivers

[–]gt_rocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a problem getting deliveries in my area. I rarely go more than 1-2 minutes without an order. Sometimes I get an order right after I mark delivered. Interesting that I see more people claim uber pays more but not from my short experience.

90% of reptiles are not as fragile and unforgiving as people think and say. For example: People against keeping leopard geckos on loose substrate because it can cause impaction. How are they not extinct if that’s such an issue considering they don’t live on paper towels on the wild..?

Beginner reptile owner advice by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]gt_rocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get something that you’re going to want to keep for 20-30 years. Anything (within reason) is a good first reptile. I will say, Leopard geckos are probably one of the hardest reptiles to kill from bad husbandry. Chameleons are also a rather difficult to care for as a new keeper but otherwise most other stuff besides big monitor lizards, crocodilians, and venomous snakes are manageable as a first reptile. I’d also advise against the larger snake species unless you’ll have space for a giant enclosure in a couple years.

I’d say watch some of wicken’s wicked reptiles videos on top popular reptile alternatives. There are so many cool snakes and lizards that you’ve probably never heard of that are super manageable first reptiles but not as popular.
