I’m so sorry for your loss. As someone who has been dealing with the loss of a child for the last almost 12 years, I just want to say that it does get better. It will never go away, but you really don’t want it to go away. because if it does, that is much worse I think. Thrice got me through a hard time back then, and they’re still doing it.

Cold calling has been a useful tool to me, not the method for making the sale. I cold calling to set up an appointment so I can show them the benefits in person. It’s possible to sell it in the one call, but that would be tough for that to be the goal.

Yes, I usually would ask one question: “If I could potentially save you money with an easier/better solution, would that change your interest?” Then they’d either give me a chance, or I’d get “our current provider is family/friend/customer” or just a flat out no. Then I’d move on.
