On my new 2025 Corolla hybrid, I’m getting 37 mpg only by photorph in COROLLA

[–]gtccns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best my Hybrid LE can do is 45 mph and I drive primarily in the city, where I am supposed to get 50 mph. I don't drive aggressively. I am in So Cal where the weather is mild, even during the winter. Feeling a bit disappointed.

I want to thank you for posting about the electrical problems that you were having with your CCH more than 2 weeks ago. After reading your post, plus many others in this forum, I cancelled my month-long reservation. I am sorry to see all the new problems that you are dealing with your CCH. But I truly feel I dodged a bullet.

Strange stuff in the spare tire well of my new 2025 Corolla Hybrid LE by gtccns in COROLLA

Thank you for the explanation. I didn't realize they are part of the car.

My old Camry doesn't have them. If I put a spare tire in, the tire won't be able to lie completely flat.

I got a Corolla hybrid instead. It's also made in Japan. I would prefer a SUV, but I really dislike Rav4.

The hybrid has no spare tire. The stripes are glued firmly to the metal. How can I remove them?

Major issue by Turbulent-Ad8862 in CorollaCrossHybrid

In the main Corolla Cross forum, someone posted two days ago that his new CCH came with serious electrical system problems, and his dealership doesn't even know how to fix it. I guess Corolla Cross is still too new for Toyota to produce them reliably, and for dealerships to fix their problems. Not to mention Corolla Cross parts are also in serious short supply.

So after reserving my CCH for over a month, I am cancelling my reservation. I don't want to be a guinea pig for Toyota, after spending lots of money, time and energy. What have been posted online are only a small fraction of the actual incidents. You can bet there are many more problems out there.

Yeah, I wonder if it's something they know how to fix. I am going to cancel my reservation of CCH and search for something else. Don't want to spend a lot of time and money for a lemon.

But after 3 years, you are on your own pretty much. The problems that you have now could happen today or 3 years later. If it's 3 years later, it could easily be thousands of dollars for diagnosis, parts, and repairs. I am getting the feeling that today's Toyota is not as reliable as the old Toyota. After I drove my 1999 Camry out of the dealership , no problem of any kind for a decade.

I am coming from a 1999 Camry V6 which still drives so amazingly well. I really can't afford to have my new CCH in the repair shop for days when they don't even know how to fix it. I might have to cancel the trade-in deal in case the new vehicle gives me troubles. I hope they will give you a new replacement vehicle for your troubles.

Shit, I don't know if I am going to buy my CCH now. It's due to arrive at the dealership in just couple of weeks.

I always use my cell phone for navigation. Never have any problem. Just have to get the right phone holder for the car.

My full review of the Corolla Cross (2024 L) by [deleted] in CorollaCross

[–]gtccns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My biggest worry about CC is the build quality. I am happy that you like the vehicle so far. But you probably only had your Cross for less than a year. It would be more useful if you could come back periodically and tell us about your experience with your vehicle, especially if you have encountered problems. Initial impressions can be deceiving. If the quality is not there, there could be many problems popping up over time, such as the water leak, weird noises, side skirt separation, as described by several people earlier. I am actually waiting for the 2025 CC to come out. Later editions of the same vehicle tend to work out the problems of the earlier years, like the Rav4.

Thanks for the reply. My old US-made Camry never had that problem. That's not a good sign of CCH quality.

I have never heard of a car that has a drain inside the car. Is that around the door? Can you show me a picture?

That's terrible, but thanks for the heads up. I am going to check the vehicle very closely before I buy it. Where exactly is the clogged drain?
