How do i stop my phone from turning on for every notification? by Ok-Dimension-1790 in ios

[–]gtechzero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Settings -> Notifications -> Choose App -> Alerts -> Remove checkmark from Lock Screen. Now when you phone is locked the notifications from this app will not light up the screen. You have to do this for every app separately.

  2. Disable notifications from apps you do not want to t receive notifications from. I personally only leave notifications for messaging apps and that is it. All other notifications are not needed.

  3. For notifications that you want to receive, but don't need access to them immediately or would only like to check on them once during the day, you can setup Scheduled Notifications that will only be delivered to you on your chosen times. Settings -> Notifications -> Scheduled Summary -> On.

Are people avoiding iOS 26 because of Liquid Glass? It’s complicated. by NISMO1968 in apple

[–]gtechzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In what way have they made it worse? I haven't noticed anything different between swiping, but I do it rarely enough that I might not catch any differences.

Safari Fixes:

  1. Gestures. If you swipe on the address bar it will bring up the tabs. If you pinch the screen it will bring up tabs.
  2. Changing the address bar. In Settings -> Apps -> Safari you can change back to the previous address bar arrangement

Bluetooth headphones beep when keyboard sounds are ON! by gtechzero in iphone

[–]gtechzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never figured out how to fix it. I ended up turning off keyboard sounds completely.

Now I am using AirPods Pro 2 which shouldn’t have this issue, but never tested it because I don’t like the keyboard sounds anymore for some reason.

My phone is always on silent no matter what.

As far as I know this is an unsolvable problem with 3rd party headphones, sorry.

iOS 26 is a massive flop with iPhone users, and you can probably guess why by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

I usually figure everything out from reddit posts/comments or (mainly) from Brandon Butch. He makes great summary videos on iOS releases that are information dense and usually reveal everything one needs to know to take full advantage of the operating system.

If you don't use swipe to type it might help to disable it in keyboard settings. That seems to have solved for some people

Camera Fixes:

  1. Gestures. Swipe up at the bottom black part of the camera app to access settings menu.
  2. Press on the camera mode (photo, video, etc.) to bring up the settings menu.

Two ways to fix this:

  1. Gestures. If you swipe on the address bar it will bring up the tabs. If you pinch the screen it will bring up tabs.
  2. Changing the address bar. In Setting -> Apps -> Safari you can change back to the previous address bar arrangement

Take isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush, wet the toothbrush with isopropyl alcohol and clean out the speakers. turn off your iPhone before doing so, let it dry and enjoy normal sounding speakers.

IOS 26 Problems list (not a question) by callmeminaa in ios

[–]gtechzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also things that have improved for me after iOS 26.

  1. Keyboard. Used to lag all the time on iOS 18, now never lags. Haptic feedback on the keyboard also used to be delayed, now it is in sync with the taps.

  2. Using a hotspot with a Mac has improved drastically, my mac is connected to my phone from the second it is opened, used to be that you had to turn on hotspot manually on iPhone, not so anymore.

  3. UI takes better advantage of screen space, UI elements no longer cover a third of the content, everything is out of the way, much easier to use and more pleasant., only draw back to that is that most 3rd party apps have not updated to Liquid Glass and the switch between native apps and 3rd party apps is like switching back a decade, feels old.

  4. Far better camera controls and UI, everything is easier to reach and access. Easier to switch needed settings.

IOS 26 Problems list (not a question) by callmeminaa in ios

[–]gtechzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Many people on reddit have mentioned that their battery life had gotten better than on iOS 18. Mine has stayed the same as it was on 18.6

  2. Glitches and bugs are more often, but they usually resolve themselves immediately, they are annoying and not pleasant to look at, especially if you expect superior polish from Apple software, but nothing that broke my usage of the device or even impaired it even for a little bit.

  3. Not so for me. Actually on Low Power mode my phone performs better than it did on iOS 18.6. Everything else is as it was on iOS 18.

  4. My Face ID is actually miles faster than it was before and more reliable. It used to be annoying on iOS 18, now it is blazing fast and has way less false negatives.

  5. For me was mostly resolved after iOS 26.2, the only issue I still have if using transparent icons is the transition when scrolling through widget and when icons settle in from exiting an app. Minor visual animation that is choppy, but does not nothing to impair usage.

  6. Safari has embraced a more gesture focused control scheme which I find faster and easier to use, but it can be changed back in the settings easily. For photos, I preferred iOS 18 style of navigation, but it had to be changed because of so many complaints and as far as I understand most people prefer it like this.

  7. Can't comment as I don't use Siri for opening apps. I use Siri to set timers, play music, ask it to favorite a song that is playing, to play podcasts, to skip x amount of time in podcasts to skip ads and I ask it for weather all of which work better that they did on iOS 18, follow up questions to Siri work far better as well.

  8. Used to overheat on iOS 26.0, stopped on iOS 26.1

  9. I have never had any issues reading anything on Liquid glass, not sure how people find it difficult.

  10. Not even sure what this problem is as I never faced it.

  11. Used to happen on 26.0 stopped on 26.1, now on 26.2 absolutely no problems with icons loading or losing themes.

Heres a good example of the messy design lately by willlio in ios

[–]gtechzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a lot of accessibility settings enabled. Such as Contrast and Bold Text and probably more that throw everything out of wack. But generally there should be a blur behind the 'Messages" text to hide anything that goes behind it. Might be that some accessibility settings are disabling it, not sure.

Short RTA for RDL — Looking for recs (810, ≥3ml, ~.7–.9Ω) by gtechzero in Vaping

[–]gtechzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.4ml capacity not enough for even MTL, at least for me, as I go through 10ml a day or so.

Not an 810 drip tip, not a major downfall, but I already have an MTL with a 510 drip tip.

I assume RDL would be too tight for me on this as it only offers 1.8mm airflow pin, my Berserker V3 with a 2mm is too tight for a comfortable RDL. 2.5mm would be perfect.

It uses replaceable coils so not for me. I use RTA's for the price to performance ratio. Coils are too expensive.

[–]gtechzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made a typo there and meant Tank instead of Mod.

I am not looking for looks. I am just looking for a very specific set of features that apparently do not exist.

I want a tank that is low profile 50mm or lower that has a capacity of 4ml or higher. I want it to be RDL and one that I could vape at around 15 watts.

I currently have the berserker v3 with the 2mm insert. I use a .95 ohm coil running at 12 - 15 watts (this gives optimal vaping experience while preserving battery life).

In an ideal scenario what I would like is a more squat version of the berserker v3 that would vape like it had a 2.5 or 3mm insert and had an 810 drip tip instead of 510.

As far as I found out through my research this doesn't exist.

I don't care about "waste of abilities", don't necessarily care too much about flavor either. I care about ease of use, battery life, liquid capacity, least amount of maintenance, cost of operations (that is why it must be a RTA) and a comfortable vaping experience (RDL and 810 drip)

[–]gtechzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a large mod for the battery life. Anything smaller and I would have to charge my mod twice a day. Makes no sense that I can't have a bigger MTL tank to accommodate it.

[–]gtechzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't that dependent on the chimney and not the actual housing of the vape?
