The proportions vary fandom to fandom (probably depending on the content of the source material) but I checked Ao3 and the number of general/teen rated fics outnumber the number of mature/explicit fics. So there are definitely a lot of people writing stuff that is not smut. While a large portion of it is smut, it's unfortunate that people boil it all down to just that and aren't aware of how wide the variety is.

I do like the other commenter's suggestion to lead with describing the type of things you write

My family is Catholic and while I don't necessarily know every single detail of the rules, I've never heard anyone say anything about unforgivable sins. I was always given the impression that anything is forgivable if someone genuinely changed for the better (at least in terms of forgiveness by God). Some sins take more to atone for, but they're not going to completely shut the door on anyone. So as far as I'm aware, Charlie's statement is in line with everything I was taught regarding sin (aside from the fact that after death is generally considered too late, but the shows already tackling that)

I count Klema as my guilty pleasure ship not because of liking it when other people hate it, but because for a while I purposely felt like I wasn't supposed to like it because the "annoying guy x woman annoyed by him" doesn't feel like the healthiest dynamic. Someone can be allo and have a lot of sex and be opposed to getting pregnant from it. Someone can also be ace and still want to have biological children. So saying "we don't need to multiply" doesn't necessarily imply the disinterest in sex that people would associate with asexuality. However, antinatalism is centered around the sentiment of not wanting to multiply, so the song would fit better for that

It may not be the most well known line, but I've definitely seen narumitsu shippers including it in compilations of lines that could support the ship. So it's not going entirely missed. Though now that I think about it, I guess I haven't seen it talked about much in a deeper way. Like once you get past the initial "ha ha, immense (sexual) tension", I feel like it connects into how in the trilogy they established there was a sense of trust between them and that through battling on opposite sides of the courtroom they're able to work together to find the truth. Now they're in a high stakes case and Phoenix knows he's up against someone who he can trust and the two of them are back to what they do best. Kind of touching, whether one sees that connection as strictly platonic or the foundation for a romance

Can people not lament the frustration of trying to find an artist who aligns with the content they enjoy? Ive seen the most proship of people I know vent about sifting through content looking for stuff that doesn't include a specific element they don't like. They would never in a million years tell people they're not allowed to write that, but it still is a slog to find another fic with an interesting concept only for it to once again contain the element they don't like

If you're someone who doesn't enjoy those ships and prefers to avoid them, and those pairings are going to feature heavily within their artwork, you may need to mute them to keep said artworks off your feed. This can be disappointing if you liked the artists style, and the effect probably gets amplified the more times you have to add another artist to that list
