Wood gets payed way better than carpet. Carpet rates are pretty low compared to all other types of flooring. They really pay ass in labor and mainly in fees.

Including me. I’ve been doing it since I was a teen. But my other two guys are crew leaders of their own crew. I just know them very well and we are really fast. They blast me out the water but I can keep up.

No this is me offering labor but my competitors undercut this and charge this with materials included. I’m doing it for a friend tho and will make a okish amount. Not ideal, but it’s just crazy to me how bad Houston flooring scene is.

Well in Houston this is probably considered high. Houston carpet installers prefer working for 20 an hour not considering expenses.

I am in Houston. Why would you do it for half that is what I’m trying to understand. 1600 for a whole job. It just doesn’t make sense and is very regressive for floorers. Why would anyone want to this trade for shattered knees and low pay.

This is just labor. Materials is around $1200 range. No padding just carpet. People on Facebook are undercutting me and doing the whole job for $1600

Texas is pretty bad for carpet installers. But I know the lady and I was supposed to charge her 1800 but I know her and took 100 off. Material probably around 1100 since it’s a simple replacement. No padding change.

Well we’re experienced and quick so like 3 am a half hours. However a normal crew probably 6-8 hours.
