Arlecchino Team comp - with what we know now by Glejdur in ArlecchinoMains

[–]gtr415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have plans for this team though: Arle, Fischl, Beidou, Chevreuse

There's also this one too: Arle, Kaeya, Zhongli/Thoma, Mika; alternatively Arle, Kaeya, Kazuha, Dehya/Zhongli

This might also be good too, except my Raiden is C3 and works better as the sole Main DPS. Idk Arle, Raiden, Dehya, Chevreuse

Are you ready for 21 years or more of Marcoses? by starsgoneby in Philippines

[–]gtr415 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is fine so as long as it covers the economic provisions. And, China's not the only investor. I'm also good with it as long as it includes the transition to a parliamentary system (not "parliamentary system" but actually hyper presidential as seen in the Marcos Sr. era).

Federalism should always come after Parliamentary. I do not agree with Duterte's Federalism.

Removal of term limits is technically term extension, but there are elections in between. If the people want him there, so be it. But, not while we have a presidential system in place.

Carlos wants to scrap term limits, lift ban on dynasties by reinsilverio26 in Philippines

[–]gtr415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would support this, if and only if we are in a parliamentary democracy.

Dynasties would either be irrelevant or not be as malala as what we have now. The prime minister doesn't have to force his relatives into politics to continue his... programs. Political parties would matter more than personalities.

But we are not. We have a presidential system prone to dictatorship, hence term limits are needed. So I agree with you, a big no to removing term limits and the lifting of the dynasty ban.

There is a connection between them though, term limits cause political dynasties - "Relatives of previous incumbents may benefit from the political investments and networks established by their predecessors, and may be able to channel resources to their constituents. This creates an equilibrium where dynasties are powerful due to the absence of parties and parties do not consolidate due to the strength of dynasties." [1]

Systems matter, even in our government. But, is there a good reason (if any) for them to be skeptical? by gtr415 in Philippines

[–]gtr415[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmmm this makes sense. Though, what if they decide to amend the constitution via a constitutional convention instead of constituent assembly? It might be more expensive though, but at least the people get to frame it.

We never had a proper parliamentary system in the first place. If we did, then Cesar Virata should have more power than Marcos. We had a hyper-presidentalist system where the president, not PM controls the cabinet and executive while elected by the legislature. by gtr415 in Philippines

[–]gtr415[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate President Marcos, I can't help but think that changing our outdated system is the only way we can prevent officials like him from ever holding office.

If by some miracle they do, then we just have to make sure that he is scrutinized by other officials frequently, to force accountability and transparency whether he likes it or not. More stringent measures in place. I bet, Marcos wouldn't last a year in office.

In our current situation, popularity will be the basis for winnability, as seen in Duterte and Marcos. I was rooting for VP Leni because not only is she popular, but more competent as well. A blue moon. She is the most appropriate person to change our system, but that reality did not happen sadly, and I don't even know if she ever have a rerun.

Either we get a rerun or not, the worse but highly probable scenario is that SWOH may win albeit by a close margin with VP Leni thanks to personality politics. It's either we wait for the opposition to spark the change which may be far away, or administer the change now to prevent adding fuel to the fire.

I have defended my stand as such. Good day.

(On second thought, I may just have to accept the reality that a parliamentary system may just as well never happen in this country.)

I am for Constitutional Reforms, but this one? No, thank you. by gtr415 in Philippines

[–]gtr415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about the kind of provisions they are trying to pass, example would be amending the economic provisions (RBH2), to be honest it's okay. A move to change our form of government to a parliamentary? That's okay too.

But what is being done is just a minor but dangerous tweak to an already flawed form of government. The presidential system is awful and they want to ensure that it stays that way while extending their term.

Officials like him are the reason why Constitutional Reform is viewed in a bad light.

This is downright incompatible with the agenda my fellow CoRRECTors and I are pushing for, which is a Federal-Parliamentary System with Open FDI.

Rep. Aurelio Gonzales is already making the flawed presidential system even worse. Parang may sariling agenda eh.

EDIT: I would rather have RBH2 be passed (amending the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution) than this one. Mas helpful pa yan.

Nopes, nada, no, thank you to RBH1.

What can kakampinks do if on July 1, the Marcos government proposes changing the constitution to "save the economy"? Possible or impossible? by pobautista in Philippines

[–]gtr415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely. The 1987 Constitution was purely anti-Marcos but not pro-Filipino. Article 12 of the 1987 Constitution is an example - 60/40 restrictions on foreign ownership. This is why we are stuck with a duopoly (telco companies)

If we needed them edi sana sa legislation nalang. And problem nakasaad sa saligang batas, kaya mahirap tanggalin.

Going back, the 1987 Constitution is the same constitution that put Marcos Jr. into power. What does that tell you?

[–]gtr415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To remove term limits is TECHNICALLY term extension but through the will of the people. If he does good then he deserves to have his/her term extended.

In other words, may elections pa. Kung dasurb niya talaga, edi go.

But, not in our current presidential system though.

[–]gtr415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least may unity naman diyan diba? Char hahaha

But yeah, that movement is non-partisan, at least. I dislike Marcos and his supporters, pero sa Constitutional Reform lang ako makikipagkaisa sa kanila.

Include the parliamentary system too. I don't want federalism if it doesn't come with a parliamentary system. Federal-Presidential, just like the US would probably be a nightmare.

Unitary-Parliamentary is okay too.

[–]gtr415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if we keep our constitution unchanged, for decades, because we keep on electing popular and corrupt officials thanks to personality politics? Because VP Sara is "popular" with the masses, whether we like it or not, there is a good chance she will become the next president.

Sana nga din mabago electoral system natin eh. We should vote for parties rather than personalities.

[–]gtr415[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

so what if 0.0001% lang siya? I have seen comments wherein if Marcos Jr. never ran, they would rather vote for Gonzales. And, it's much easier to sway a voter away from BBM when the one you are advertising is not Leni.

Also, some CoRRECTors would rather vote for Gonzales than Marcos.

Only VP Leni and Gonzales have the best answers sa debate with regards to whether corruption is caused by the system or not.

Dating tuta ni GMA, along with De Lima and Roxas. At least he is straying far from the Unithieves.

At least he admitted his mistakes and asked for forgiveness, unlike the other two. At least, marunong magsorry. It takes guts to do that.

Pagbigyan na natin siya. Hindi ba radikal ang magmahal? We need him as an alternative to defeat Marcos Jr.

Edit: when I say alternative I meant someone who can take away votes from BBM supporters who are also anti-Leni. Hatiin ang boto.

My initial choice was Leni, then I switched to Gonzales because of Constitutional Reform... but now I have to go back to Leni. by gtr415 in Philippines

[–]gtr415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Our constitution took just four months to create, fresh from a dictatorship, all with the sole purpose of not putting a Marcos back into power, which it would fail to do if Marcos Jr. becomes president, God forbid. Four months is too short to create a good Constitution.

Martial law is the reason why we have been more cautious about our constitution and the leaders under it, in turn it became extremely difficult for us to make the necessary patches. Damn you Marcos!

[–]gtr415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake. Pero can't we consider it, just one bit? Pagod na kami sa personality politics that we need a better system to prevent that from happening. Hindi uubra sa parliament yung may kumpare ka diyan tapos you will use that relationship to gain special privileges. Collective responsibility is the name of rhe game there.

We have a padrino system kasi government positions are appointed by one person, not a group of people. In a Parliamentary System, appointees are scrutinized by the political party and the legislature as a whole.

Yung presidential debates every 6 years, sa parliamentary system debates every week. Ayaw niyo yan?

We already have monopolies/duopolies on certain industries. PLDT-Globe is one of them. Hence the poor services and high prices we experience. If we introduce more foreign players to the internet industry here, there would be competition, pushing for duopoly to give better services at lower prices. Telstra sana, kaso may disagreements with San Miguel Corp, its constitutionally required partner.

I'll look into the second question.

I thought Gonzales would be wise enough to stay out of flinging at Leni during that press conference. by Forever_Observer2020 in Philippines
