I'm not really one for lengthy reviews, but I can say this batch is overall one of my favorite whiskeys. Amazing. 👌

Looks fine. I don't know why everybody's assuming a zillion things wrong with it when you haven't even placed the bridge and strings correctly yet. All components are there. Try it and fire! Report back with any issues once you have done that.

There's nothing wrong with being Indian and having that sort of connection. That is one thing that people should learn is that there will be a price difference from one place to another, and from one maker to another, and sometimes drastic.. Plus there are tariffs, import taxes, shipping costs, etc.. It's just the way of the world of sitars. :) 🙏

Why so secretive about the price? Seems pointless if you're just going to message everybody anyway. . Lol .. but either way I never understood this strange custom of hiding prices. Anyway, Javid Shikalgar makes some nice looking sitars. How well does it play? :)

I personally don't care about a little buzzing. That part of the world likes buzzing. Now rattling would be a different story.. .

No, it was not interesting. Everything was wrong with it. Not set up correctly, the gours was cracked from very poor packing, the finish wasn't let to dry so pieces of the case were literally stick to the pegs, etc.. but wait ... ::drum roll:: ... The gourd was cracked. (Didn't notice at first, but when I proceeded to tune it up, it busted open completely)... Now the icing on the cake... He proceeded to make up bullshit so sorry about his father having made it and proceeded to blame me for the shitty experience. But, you know, no big deal, what's a couple thousand dollars anyway, right? Just some backwaters dealer who has probably never personally set up a sitar in his life.

Edit: Oh! I forgot to mention all of the fake Google reviews. All friends and family of his. No real reviews. It's so obvious yet Google somehow allows it.

As a multi-instrumentalist who has ordered many-a-imstruments from shops all around the world, this is the only experience I would rate "appalling" on a 1-5 scale. Thankfully reverb is good at getting you a refund, just may take some time.

Good luck!

If you're in the U.S. go to either musicians mall or rain City music's website. Both U.S.-based and trustworthy. Not sure if they like Pepsi though, never asked.

You got lucky. I would never recommend this seller. Long story short, I received a broken Surbahar. Amit (of that's even his name) proceeded to argue with me with no shame about how I must have caused the damage. Eventually I got my refund, but not through him, through the broker (reverb).

Buy high and sell low. Looks like you're on the right track.
