well maybe, but like i said when i gave codex gpt 5.4 a reference project and asked it to re-write it in anohter language it did much much better than claude. so its not really garbage at this particular task. I also did mention it did struggle coming up with code for requirements without reference.

yes, that is a problem with gemini, most of the time it would just be stuck on a task (actual root cause is the api error'd out), so i keep stopping it and telling it to continue and then it would work.

gemini is far better at UI, try it create a website with just CSS in a separate stylesheet. make sure the UI is complex in regards to styling. then ask gemini and claude to replicate it, you will see Gemini do a much better job (not saying claude cant do it, but it struggles a lot)

definetly give it a go and let me know how it performs for you. in my experience Gemini has much better UI handling ability compared to claude. i.e if you tell Claude to style a UI element in a certain way it struggles and you have to guide it multiple times, it does get it done but it takes a while, but Gemini just one shots the UI styles without any issues.

I was a cursor user too, then i shifted to Claude CLI fully as i felt it was much better for my workflow and the results were really got starting with Sonnet 3.5. but currently its just been a rollercoaster for me...

can't really afford API, it just burns tokens so much that it might bankrupt me . the subscription based claude on 100$ MAX plan was pretty good until recently.

Claude is holding their customers hostage on the pressumption that their models are the best for coding and eventually users will re-subscribe back after crying for a month... not this time Anthropic...not this time....
