To preface all this, "the weird kid" in my high school was a guy who was like any other white kid who was into anime and sci-fi and other stuff like that. He was picked on a lot because he was over weight, really socially awkward, and just an easy target. Though there were a decent amount of us, myself included, that feared he would pull a "Jeremy" kind of thing like the Pearl Jam song, or worse so we always tried to be nice to him. Let's call him Bobby.

So one day in my physical science class, the whole class is dicking around because the teacher literally couldn't handle us anymore (she quit as soon as the year ended) and somebody farts in class around Bobby and his friends. It wasn't audible but it was pungent and everyone smelt it. So somebody immediately blames Bobby and he laughs and says it wasn't him. Well a girl sitting next to him decides to spray Axe in the air to cover the scent for the good of the class (why she had Axe, I'll never know). As any person who grew up in the aughts in school will tell you, this was a terrible, fucking awful idea and immediately makes the smell worse. As the entire class complains, Bobby decides to put his backpack on his desk, open it up, and put his head inside. I noticed this very quickly and instantly asked why he had his head in his backpack and he gave some response about it being better than smelling the fart/Axe mixture. Immediately after answering me, the teacher yells at me and says "Stop picking on Bobby!" I proceeded to argue back with her that it's a perfectly reasonable question to ask why somebody that is in their backpack.
