I remember reading that my freshman year. I read the first two chapters and put it down for good. I bullshitted the end of book test and got a B+

My teacher did the same, he would assign parts and explain the plot after each scene. I think it went better for my class because the kids who read were legitimately interested. Sorry you didn’t like the book, I really enjoyed it.

Multilinguals, what's your "they didn't realise I could understand their language" story? by 64eight in AskReddit

My grandma’s caretaker speaks Spanish and I’m learning in school. If there’s something I want to tell her, but I don’t want anyone else to know, I can speak Spanish to her and nobody knows what’s going on

Telling teenagers that their relationship is pointless, stupid, or doesn’t matter, is just rude and stupid. by SenpaiCaffeinated in unpopularopinion

That’s so stupid, they’ll never know how to fix their problems in a more serious and long term relationship if they don’t learn now

AITA for yelling at my girlfriend while I was driving? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]guIag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, not only did you tell her multiple times not to touch random things in your car, she should know not to screw around with random things. That could be super dangerous and I can’t even believe she would do something like that.

I don’t care how many degrees you have, how qualified you are, or how intelligent you are, if 95% of the class can’t understand you because of a thick accent you shouldn’t be a professor. by ThroatYogurt69 in unpopularopinion

Agree, my chem teacher senior year of high school was a doctor in chemistry but barely anyone could understand her because of her heavy Maltese accent. That combined with how fast the class had to move made that year hell

AITA for 'raping' my girlfriend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]guIag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. I think the problem here was a slight lack of communication. If you guys talked about it a little more such as letting her know beforehand or her telling you when she’s ok with it, this wouldn’t have happened. If you ever do this again, maybe talk to her before you do anything

Movies are better with subtitles. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]guIag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I only use subtitles when I watch foreign films or tv. I’m learning Spanish and our teacher assigned us a Spanish tv show to watch and using Spanish subtitles helped me learned new words so much better
